US Embassy rarely ask for bank statement in B1/B2 Interview.

tracyroy:
Hello, Please can anyone give me an estimate of the minimum account balance I should have on the bank statement I intend providing at the embassy. This is for a B1/B2 visa with a 12 days intended stay and I'll be staying with my sister who is a permanent resident of USA. Bearing in mind that this is a virgin passport. Thank you.

In my purview, the embassy will be opened for interviews only on the 26th and 27th of November this year. All appointments scheduling are done as at the first week of September. And I think they re only attending to regular applicants.

Is it advisable to pay for visa fees now?

Definite No to one of those dates. Thursday Nov 26th is Thanksgiving Day in the US. It's a major national holiday and the embassy will not be open. You can review the embassy holiday calendar at this link

The screenshot was taken on the 5th of September when I actually book the appointment. I applied for non-immigrant visa. I don't know much about F1 visa. My interview is Abuja embassy not lagos.

I booked at the 5th of this month, regular applicant are the first timer.
I don't have much info about payment of visa fee but I'd advise to call the embassy for clarification.

I think it's only your international passport. Even in your application form you will be asked to bring your passport and maybe some document you think could back you up.

Every applicant must have a passport. Gone are the days or era of attaching minors on parents passports.

Do you know if there's any special guideline for B1/B2 visa holder. My mum's flight is in 2 weeks. Just tryna make sure we're not missing anything. Thanks

Please did this happen and any details to share insights on?

My mum arrived on 13-Sept via Delta from Lagos to Atlanta. It was a smooth trip, no issue with boarding, they did not ask her for negative PCR result as its not required for entry into the US. She only completed the health declaration from given to her onboard. She said there're many empty seats in the main cabin for social distancing. At POE, she said the CBP officer was polite, she was only asked her purpose of visit, she answered, her passport was stamped and she was out in minutes.

Note: If you're flying to US, try to get a Non-stop flight otherwise make sure you read the travel guideline between US and the country you're transiting through.

November 27th is NOT a holiday. Yes, it's the day after Thanksgiving (which is a holiday), but not a holiday.
