Nigeria Risks ‘biblical’ Famines Due To Coronavirus – UN by tracychelsea13: 8:19am On Apr 22, 2020 |
Nigeria has been listed as one of the ten countries at risk of widespread famines “of biblical proportions” caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the UN has warned. David Beasley, head of the World Food Programme (WFP), said urgent action was needed to avoid a famine catastrophe. A report estimates that the number suffering from hunger could go from 135 million to more than 250 million. Those most at risk are in 10 countries affected by conflict, economic crisis and climate change, the WFP says. The fourth annual Global Report on Food Crises highlights Yemen, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Nigeria and Haiti. The Nigerian government has repeatedly assured citizens of food sufficiency and the President, Muhammadu Buhari earlier in the month directed that 70,000 metric tons of grains be distributed to Nigerians to help alleviate the harsh effects of coronavirus. In South Sudan, 61% of the population was affected by food crisis last year, the report says. Even before the pandemic hit, parts of East Africa and South Asia were already facing severe food shortages caused by drought and the worst locust infestations for decades. Addressing the UN Security Council during a video conference, Mr Beasley said the world had to “act wisely and act fast”. https://www.chronicle.ng/2020/04/nigeria-risks-biblical-famines-un/

That is to be expected but it will first decimate those that already have 87% poverty rate. Stop breeding like rabbits they will not hear, but they thought they were smart. Now is the time of reckoning! Charles Darwin's Survival of the fittest theory is about to take place! |

helinues: Continue playing to the gallery all because of 30k BMC allowance. I'm a realist, okay? We have been warning you all in Nigeria to be smart and progressive, you refuse but you forget that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. It's a garbage in, garbage out world! You guys brought home ant infested firewood, so why are you shocked that lizards have come for a feast?? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Buhari wants all of us to die with him. He would have stopped flights to Nigeria and close borders immediately the first case of coronavirus was recorded in Africa. Buhari and APC are curses. 1 Like |

Biafrarep: Do you want the BMC job? Oya come and take it. Must you people wish others evil just because they have different opinions from you? The irony of this, na the same people wey you dey wish evil to na him your region go lick ass again in 2023 politically. Is that not more than confusion? Wish others what you would like to be wished.. |

Biafrarep:All your bragging doesn't bring any sensible ideas of way out .many of you Nigerians (lazy with no ideas)only know how to complain ,Dishing out insult without asking yourselves ,what have you done to contribute to the development of the country. The government has its part of failures but many citizens too are just parasite who expect government to do it all.we are talking abt the food product you are laming blaming and insult as if the president /government is the only responsible for production of food and growing of economy in the developed countries .If we ask you to go into farming you will say it is an insult, you will say government need to provide land and money for you.If the government give you land, fertilizers and money we will only take money for another unproductive things, sell off the fertilizers and the land will just be there for nothing .they created N Power with #30,000 monthly your only interest is to collect that money without even attending the job function given to you .if they challenge you will still blame the government .The only way out is to encourage mass farming and government can't do it all.many Nigerians are dubiously minded ,They blame their leaders but they forgot those Leaders grown up in their society they are the main producer of their any leaders .you will keep complaining ,no leader will satisfy you,you will never be contented bcs you always concentrate on who govern you but you failed to observe how you are governing yourselves . In Nigeria both past and present Government would make effort to introduce policies either good or bad but Nigerians will only think on how to sabotage the policies to meet up their selfish interest .the same Nigerians will still come out to blame government .our societies is the government if we failed to imbibe good moral and goodwill !! Nigeria will remain even worst than the present. |

adekolaelect: It may interest you to know that I have been earning forex for Nigeria while equally helping to promote its worthless image for several years now. I export intellectual services and earn dollars in return. Nigeria has the most useless and selfish leaders ever seen anywhere. Buhari was busy using scarce resources to be searching for oil in the North so they can have bragging rights when he could have used the money to support agriculture and industry. You guys encouraged your people to be breeding like rats and even organize mass weddings just to have bigger population that are not even useful to themselves talk more of the society. Do you know how much this country have wasted and continues to waste in the name of fighting Boko Haram your elite created for political reasons? Do you know how much you guys have wasted in the name of useless Hajj pilgrimage that adds nothing to the growth of the country?? Do you know how much we have lost in terms of lives and properties in the hands of fulani herdsmen and the upheaval they've caused?? What is the use of having a large population that is not useful? Well, now that oil is becoming worthless, you all will get sense by force. |
