Setting the record straight, a medical doctor attached to the General Hospital in Warri has rubbished claims that Mamuzo Ijala, a coronavirus patient was allegedly victimized and maltreated by health staffs.

The rebuttal came after the coronavirus patient alleged that health officials refused to treat her after she was referred from Otor-Jeremi General Hospital.

According to the medical doctor(name withheld), Mamuzo Ijala was unwilling to reveal her true address and the nature of her illness to the doctor that was on call.

Not being consistent about her address and showing attitude during diagnosis, her man friend who accompanied her for treatment threw in the towel and revealed she lived at Ugborikoko where an index case was earlier recorded.

Suspecting a likely COVID-19 case, the doctor asked for an X-ray to be conducted, after which he angrily referred her to Warri where she was denied entry because of her persistent cough and inability to reach the referral doctor who refused to give them his phone number for attempting to put him into trouble and endanger his life.

Luckily for her, she had collected the phone number of the record personnel who was called before her samples were collected for test that turned out to be positive.
