Mindlog: I don’t think an £8-11 p/h job can even sponsor a Tier-2 visa anyways... Unless if after BreXit, and them Eastern European “cheap labour” are gone, then maybe Fruit pickers can be granted tier-2 eligibility. Interesting times... 1 Like |

On this topic of Management, let me say a few words. I did MSc Purchasing and Supply Chain in the UK (2011), came back home and got a good job after some months. Of all my class set, less than 5 people were able to get jobs in the UK after graduation, even those with distinction and merits. A lot had interviews till the last stage and then were told ..sorry you do not meet the "requirements"...a lot tried to hustle till the end of their visa.. no way.. the ones who were fortunate to get jobs were in other fields. Although this was the period of no post graduate work permit, yet some outstanding students were able to get jobs in their desired field while others had to settle for what they could get or started another program immediately. Some even moved to Canada to continue their pursuit for a better life. Management is a generic field, so unless you just finished school in the last 3 -5 years, have a job that requires it for promotion, I definitely wouldn't advice you go spend all that money on it... additionally, things have changed. The current strategy should be look for a course that is in demand in any developed country. Since time immemorial...health field jobs are never out of style.. then IT and Engineering.. even the Business Analyst is a combination of Management and IT. So for those venturing into overseas study, please and please, be strategic. In today's world, there is nothing like I don't know that course o.. I can't do it.. .. a lot of nigerians after immigrating, go and start school again in either nursing, social work or IT... doesn't that tell you something? Unless you absolutely want to become an academic, then you can go do the course you like to PHD level... get a job as a lecturer and fulfill your life dream. Okay, that's my two kobo on the matter... back to the main discussion... I have trying to read back on the 3rd thread for possible interview questions. Could anyone direct me to a specific page or range? Thanks! 7 Likes 2 Shares |

I agree with you. As I mentioned yesterday, Supply Chain & Business Analytics are good ones for U.K. applicants but people’s destiny differs. You will be surprised that someone studying management will go and get hired after studies. While the IT guy will go and come back to Nnamdi Azikiwe lol. Also, not everyone fits the health field because it’s in demand. Tbh I think people should go into the medical field because of a strong passion with sincere intention and not because of work. There’s nothing like having a passion for what you do. It’s even unsafe for someone to do nursing because it’s in demand but deep down wants to be an engineer or something. That kind of person will be good at neglecting, more like doing eye service. Might also be battling with depression even with the PR & money that he/she is making. I think it all boils down to your passion, previous experience and intended destination. Its good to choice your destination wisely as it suits your profile. Someone going to US or Canada or France or China or Belgium for example, can get a job within the Business field because these countries are producers. But someone going to Estonia or Luxembourg etc, to study nursing is not feasible. These are IT countries. There’s a destination for everyone, you just got too research properly. It’s better to appear confused & make the right choice, than to follow the crowd & say “had I known”. mamacajah: 6 Likes |

LagosismyHome: Precisely my point when I wrote "things have changed"... which is why my counsel is really look before you leap.. UK right now needs people more than ever....so why not make yourself versatile and appealing to not only them but other developed nations. Let's learn to be more long sighted when planning this investments ..think outside the box..is this program I am investing in now able to help build a good foundation for my desired tomorrow? 5yrs, 10 yrs, 15 yrs from now?... that needs to be your driving force.. for me IT is the top choice but as is evidenced, without experience, the degree can only take you so far... but it is doable. this is the millenial age people..anything is possible, as long as you work at it! I would always advise any body embarking on this journey, spend time researching everything about the place you want to go to, why you want to go there and devise the right plan/strategy of getting there, within the right means of course ![]() 1 Like |

If you don’t mind me asking, are you still in Nigeria? If yes, are you planning to migrate as well to another country or back to the U.K.? (as you are on this thread). Please don’t be offended, just curious. mamacajah: |

@ justwise, can't this thread have a link to the pages with normal FAQs like "preparing for interview", " how to check your status", etc like you did for the US and Canada study threads on the front page? It would really help...just my thinking. Thanks for still doing a great job all these years.. it's not an easy one.... 2 Likes |

Skymoore1004: Still here in Nigeria, making plans and searching options.. no possibility is left out.. you can never tell which information can meet your need. and no, I am not offended..although your last words reminded me of the idiom.. curiosity ...( don't mind me.. I am an old school mystery fiction lover.. you could say a budding amateur sherlock holmes's partner..lol..just kidding).. 1 Like |

Greetings to Everyone in the House! You guys are doing a great job. I got admission/offers to study MSc Project Management from the following schools: RGU NTU MMU BCU SALFORD I am okay with their respective tuition fees, course contents and structures. They're all accredited by APM and some by PMI. However, where I need your advice, is the cities these schools are located. Which of these cities have a good job prospect after graduation? Low cost of living (including accommodation)? Low crime rate? Friendly to International students? and so on. I would appreciate any other advice/ suggestions about these cities. Thanks. |

I have thought of this too, it’s a nice idea, but the time to start reading through the pages to point out the FAQ is the issue. Will be nice for anyone that’s just joined and reading through the pages to help us make notes. mamacajah: |

I understand you said “personally” but be mindful that even NHS band 5 (graduate entry) is at £12.74/hr only rises with experience up to £15/hr Mindlog: |

Mindlog: Lower your expectation else you will be shocked to find out that very very few graduates earns £25/hr and you must be good to earn that much in very early of your career. 3 Likes |
