naledis: Yes they are. I transferred from my normal savings account last month to accommodate the exchange rate, and waited for 28 days, now 28 days has completed, and the rate has changed again. So I'd just combine the two accounts and send it. Funds in both accounts have been sitting for more than 28 days. |

Hi Justwise and other gurus in the house. Please I had my TB test on Friday, and the “No evidence of active TB was ticked” but the chest X-ray was ticked “abnormal”. And then they also ticked the box where they stated the X-ray result is with me which isn’t the case. Is there something for me to be worried about? Do I need to go back and complain?. Thanks. |

Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Oloshi83: 3:11pm On Aug 30, 2020 |
Just put 4-6 weeks from the date of your application. You can’t travel without a visa anyway so even if the date isn’t feasible, everyone knows and understands why. It’s really not a big issue. I have helped a couple of people with applications and they both put mid August based on their resumption dates and they got their visas last week (end of August). Fwaz: 1 Like |

For those who have submitted application, is there cause to worry? I submitted my application on Friday. The amount in the account was at N519/£ as at submission. It had never risen above N516 before then mattfeuter: |

No offence but this sort of question really annoys me. Is it easy to get a job in your OWN country? Listen man, go and do your research. Don’t come here to derail the thread and create unnecessary arguments! donmanuel1: 5 Likes |

toyclicks: No. Because it’s already locked. The eco will use the rate on the date of application to calculate the required funds. |

There are two other threads that you may find useful: https://www.nairaland.com/4158866/living-uk-life-uk-immigrant Or https://www.nairaland.com/863688/nigerian-students-uk-how-survive Put your question on those threads. Crookesmore: I know they will soon come after me, but this is RIDICULOUS!! You were in SHU for at least 1 FULL year. You were there as an Adult, for a MASTERS. You come to a forum of PROSPECTIVE applicants, most of who have not stepped out of NAIJA on a tier-4 visa before, asking for a list of schools?? Are you for real?? I can answer your question on how to get PhD admissions in the UK. But this your current question is outrightly ridiculous. 14 Likes 1 Share |

Crookesmore: I can see you want to self-sponsor for PhD. I wont advise it as you dont have enough money. Even if you have, I wont advise it as it appears that you dont even have interest in PhD. You just want to leave naija. Seek for PhD scholarship instead. You must have interest for PhD research to be successful. Also, your main aim of doing PhD is to leave Nigeria when there are many other ways you can leave naija cost effective. With that allotted money, you can secure Canada or Australia permanent residence if you follow the guidance so dont waste money. Also, instead of doing PhD, you can do another Masters since you dont have money for PhD and obtain PSW then follow through. Good luck. 12 Likes 1 Share |

donmanuel1: Your last question is a very WRONG question to ask..lol. I have friends who have not gotten jobs in 9ja for 8years after BSC, so why would you think it will be easy to get a job in another man's land From my own experience, it depends on the type of person you are and the type of family you come from. Note: Anything I write here do not concern kids from rich families and "politician kids" 100% it is advisable to migrate to UK but no go dy do pass yourself I had my masters in sheffield hallam , paid half fees before resumption and i was able to work and pay my balance as well. Not by 20hours jobs of course, there are other side jobs you can do and get paid in cash "IF YOU ARE A SHARP GUY" Points to note, not in any order. *At least 5-6 out of 10 Nigerian students in UK do CARE/SUPPORT JOBS. *For me, I did neither of these as i do not like these type of jobs. I started as a warehouse operative at asos, later moved to amazon. Did this for 3months after which as a sharp guy i tire for these jobs. I checked around and started looking for other less stressful jobs. I worked at a bar as a glass collector..ohhh. i missed that bar, worked as an office cleaner, after which i applied for a cover supervisor job + teaching. So basically, you need to be an hustler if you are not from a rich background. I had a friend who did not apply for a NI number throughout her 4years underg study in UK (all fingers are not equal) *People have migrated from Nigeria without schooling in UK but the chances are higher for people in the health sector. *If you entering the uk via study route and your intention is to migrate... i have friends that packed their bags and left immediately after their exam but we hustlers still worked pur 4 months o. Chinese ppl no even dy see break for eyes. My advice, get married Start a masters course..2years With the proposed 2years post study you get **4years If possible after that, do your phd 4years.. post study 2-3years **6years 10years...yeeeeeee!!!!!! Your spouse can also switch to masters + phd. *******All these no be by mouth, requires hardwork and dedication. Na hustling and ppl are doing it day in and out in UK. I know many ppl. But like they do say, 9ja ppl no dy talk, dm sabi keep info...lol "If" all these works out?research on the answer Have a kid so he/she can be 8years by then.... No be everything dm dy use mouth talk. When you land, check for infos, dont just start taking pics and do notice me + pepper dm on IG and FB Note: leave my english as e be, i am here to enjoy myself ***For me any English speaking country apart from naija ALL HAIL THE QUEEN!!! 27 Likes 4 Shares |

DMainMan: Thank you for your contribution. Have you checked how canada dy do us these days. Australia is another story but i have my plans. Also, concerning the second masters, I am not quite sure of this "progression rule" ish. So i would prefer to just go for a phd to show progression. Thank you once again. |

Please what if after submitting your application and waiting for your biometric and visa outcome and the rate surge higher that the amount sitting in your account, any need to worry? mattfeuter: |
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 7:48pm On Aug 30, 2020 |
You don't have to worry because as mattfeuter explained, the rate used to convert the funds in your account will be the Oanda rate for the day you submit, it doesn't matter if it surges a day(s) after or before your submission. Just the way the 28-day count must be completed before (not after) your submission, the rate to be used will be for the day you submit (not the rate for any day before or after your date of submission) Hubbysluv: |

@Mimilyrics @duchess @Skymoore @Justwise and all with relevant knowledge. Is it true that if you have a valid Nigeria Drivers license it will help you to get UK drivers license by shortening the driving courses you are supposed to go for? If Yes, my Nigeria drivers license have three names on it while my other documents have 4 names. Please will this be a problem if present it as a proof of driving experience? My drivers license just expired and I want to renew it. But your responses would be the determining factor Waiting for your prompt responses Thanks |

Please I need urgent clarification or possible solution, I apply For visa on 15th August (Saturday) and I printed bank statement on the 17th August (Monday) reading from 20th July to 17th Aug (28days) and did self upload same Monday 17th. Biometric was 25th August but I just noticed now that 28days was supposed to read from that Saturday 15th backward |
