An elderly man has received his late wife's ashes through the window of his car, after social distancing rules enforced amid the COVID-19 pandemic prevented him from entering the office of the local crematorium for the funeral.

Jim Harris was pictured pulling up outside the All-States Crematorium in Westminster, Colorado Friday to retrieve the remains of his beloved wife, Judy.


Employee Meridee Kennedy was seen somberly making her way out to the parking lot to deliver the urn to elderly Mr Harris, 23rd April, 2020.

Harris looked overwhelmed with emotion as he received his wife's urn

After taking the delivery, Harris signed some paperwork while remaining inside his car.

All-States Crematorium has restricted access to their office in order to comply with social distancing rules.



A handshake condolence from the employee, not a hug: The pair greeted each other wearings masks and gloves.

In one heartbreaking image, the new widower, Mr Harriss delicately clutched the wooden box containing his wife's remains as he looked down with tear-filled eyes.

That's their way when they cremate. There's even cemetery for urns/ashes. Someone like him might decide to keep till death.
