Eilenora:
Hello guys, please can you advise on this situation as I dont know what else to do

On July 14, 2020, I submitted my application for a study permit. I did an upfront medical examination and attached an e-medical information sheet evidencing same to my application.

On July 24, 2020, I received an email requesting that I undergo a medical examination. I raised a web-form attaching the evidence sent to me by my Panel Physician (Q-life Family Clinic) confirming that my medical report was indeed sent to IRCC and clearly reflecting the date that same was sent (June 25, 2020).

On July 29, 2020, I received a response from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, informing me that they had received this document and forwarded same to their Nairobi office.

On August 13, 2020, I sent a follow up email to "nrobi-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca" regarding this issue to confirm that they had indeed the document from their Canadian office.

Today makes it 30 days since I received the request for medicals and the status on my account now reads: “We did not receive the results of your required medical exam. Check your medical exam request message below for details.”

I have raised yet another webform to Nairobi this morning to avoid stories that touch.

Wondering if there is any other thing I can do. Should I be worried?

No... You should also know that most of these guys are working from home with a lot of applications to handle which is reason for the confusion but as you have sent the slip to Nairobi email and webform. You are good to go
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by joyenaholo11(f): 2:38pm On Aug 24, 2020
Please, did you have to submit the e-medical sheet via web form, or you're just waiting for the hospital to upload your report.
I want to know if I should send the information sheet I got from the hospital or just wait for the hospital to send my result.

Aiit ma'am.... thanks

hello guys according to university of windsor they accepted cgpa for graduate admission is 70% , how can i convert my Nigeria cgpa to know if i meet up with this 70% cgap. my cgpa is (3.81/5 )

By converting your GPA to percentage. I can do it for you here but I want you to learn how to do it yourself. Use Google if necessary.

Also note that many universities refer to GPA of your last two years of study, that’s is 300 and 400 level if you did a four year course. You will need your transcript or results to be able to calculate this more accurately.

All the best.

Good day @all,

Please with regards to passport collection and stamping, when does one get notified on submission of passport? especially after biometrics has been done

Will somebody's international passport have to be flown abroad or will the stamping be done here in Nigeria?

I'm clearly ignorant in this area, hence my reason for asking

I look forward to hearing from someone soon...Thank you!

Back den 2018 it was in 4days or a weeks time but now, it takes time cos they go back to verify your statement of account most especially. Pls be patient, definitely you will get a response

They don't. With one year program there is a slim chance of getting PR. With a 2 year program you have a better chance

Thank you for responding. Firstly, I plan to apply for 1yr PGWP after d studies. Then after d work I can apply for pr.

Secondly, please if I do 1 yr program after that and apply for another one yr program, do I still have to apply for student permit and showing prove of funds like in the first process.

Guys,

1. Pls how exactly should I request for my GCMS notes. I'll appreciate a guide as I'm new on that.
What to pay and how, anything to help.

2. If I get the notes, can I raise a web form in response if they are yet to finalize?

3. My friend was also a co-sponsor with me on my application. Can that be a reason they are yet to give any response since May.

4. Can a friend sponsor another friend.

No vex I beg.

This is a lie pls.. Visa approval lies on how you package your visa application and not the school you applied to or the tuition deposit.

Thanks....
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by zill001: 5:00pm On Aug 24, 2020
You can certainly apply for a pgwp after completing a 1 year program but be mindful that it will only be valid for 1 year. However, if you choose to apply for a 1 year program at the start and later go for another 1 year program so that you can be eligible for a 3 year pgwp you will have to apply for another study permit with proof of funds and home tie just like you did before.

My opinion - if you can, it is better you apply for a 2 year program and save yourself the stress and uncertainty of applying for another study permit even though the chances of you getting an approval is higher once you are in Canada.

Good evening All,

I got an acceptance letter to UNB this morning but please i have some questions:

I have studied the estimated fees - $35,378.00 for the first year and $31,677.50 for the second year with total of $67,055.50 ( tutition, living, books and feeding expense inclusive) for the whole programme. While for tuition alone is $20,278.00 for the first year and $16,577.50 for the 2nd year resulting to $36,855.50 for the whole programme. Where i need clarification is minimum of how much should reflect in my sponsors account balance as a proof of funds to apply for Visa. i noticed the letter is a conditional offer - can one use a conditional offer for Visa application? Also for those very familiar with UNB please help.

Also, please can someone assist with a detailed list and first step in applying for study permit and how to go about it also docs to get ready. I am a novice in this area and willing to learn.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Pee2Jay9: 6:35pm On Aug 24, 2020
I think that this lecturer may be the Head of graduate studies or something like that.. This his reply doesn't seem like an acceptance to me.
I'll advice you to reply specifically asking if you can fill his name in the column for Supervisor.. The excepted reply should be a certain yes or no, instead of this politically correct statement.

PS - I'll soon post my journey to gain admission.. This maple land waka is a hustle but we move grin

So a one year graduate Certificate course won't give me a stay in Canada?
Anon123:

No.. You will need to gain admission for a further 1yr program and also extend you stay by submitting a fresh pof to have a chance towards a PR. Rather its better you apply for a 2yrs course to save you that stressful in future

I want to apply for a graduate Certificate program for one year because I'm transitioning into a new field. After the one year, I can apply for 1year MSc in that field. What do you think guys?

Again, will applying for a graduate Certificate of 1year affect my visa success?

Hello Preshy2004,

You can go ahead with the upfront medicals. Just endeavour to book an appoint with either IOM or Qlife before embarking for the biometrics. For the booking use the search column in here to navigate your way to the right page where the information lies therein.

All the best

Thank you so much I highly appreciate
