If it is within the same school, depends on the school also. Most likely one semester. But if it a different school, you need to apply for admission, switch schools and change dli also NwanyiOkpa: 1 Like |

NwanyiOkpa: No requirements, just settle down, apply and wait till your admission letter comes out. The only issue is you probably won't be going to school till wen the new admission is out |

HollateeK247: Congrats on your Admission into University of Alberta for an M.Eng in Civil Engineering. Please follow the LIST OF DOCUMENTS FOR A SUCCESSFUL CANADA STUDY VISA APPLICATION to start gathering documents. Why are your parents accompanying you to Canada? It's better if you apply alone while your parents stay back in Nigeria and serve as a strong family tie in your application. When you eventually get into Canada and want them to visit you, then you can file for a visitor's visa for them (parents). At the moment what you require is a study Visa, and thus you should be applying for a study permit for yourself and not a visitor's visa. As stated on IRCC office website, international students must show proof of fund for the first year tuition and 10,000CAD for living expenses and must exhibit that they are capable of funding for the subsequent years of study. With that being said, the minimum amount that should reflect in your Sponsor's account is dependant upon your tuition fees at the University of Alberta. Your sponsor should have more than your tuition fees and living expenses as well available balance left for his business, personal welfare and family. It will end in praise 1 Like 1 Share |

Good morning my people... I have been using my dad's name and date of birth as it appears on his birth certificate.. The issue now is that his only means of identification (voter's card) is not having his middle name and his first name is even abbreviated. To worsen it, the birthday isn't tallying with that of the birth cert. I have tried getting him a national ID but those people are yet to resume work since lockdown. Can I use the birth certificate alone? Your advice would be appreciated.. Thanks |

Good Day Everyone I graduated from Public Administration in Uniben in 2019 (part time) and Intend to go for MSc Public Administration at UoR I have a wife and 3 kids but no land or house property. I have been working as an admin officer as a spy police for 7 years. 1. Is it wise for me to use a sponsor to show proof of funds? 2. Will my wife and kids be sufficient ties to my home country? 3. Will my work experience be an issue if i include in the application? 4. Is it ok to write in my statement of purpose that my study in canada is to obtain a prestigious degree which could boost my chances in politics in my home country? I will really appreciate your response(s) |

Good afternoon everyone, I'm very new here. I studied economics and graduated 2008 and I want to go for my pgd. I've never used my certificate to work at all because I've been self employed, but I dont have a buiz registration but money is running in my acct real good. The question is I just do my buiz registration, can I go ahead and apply for January admission? Wont my newly registered buiz be a red flag for my application? Or is there any way I can proof the money running in my acct ? Thanks in anticipation |

Please, I need help House, I submitted my SP yesterday morning and the first thing I could see this morning as a confirmation of receipt of application carried my Express Entry Profile number Instead of Study Permit application number. I have an EE I created last year June 19 that will expire this year June. I was not updating it again. Please, do anybody had this experience? Or this is an error? Why the EE number instead of SP number (Please, see attached) Thanks much |

OluwaFavored:I got this email today too and I haven't submitted my SP application yet. Infact I already withdrew my EE application some few days ago, so maybe it's an automatic email that is not related to your SP application. |

Anon123: Hello Anon123, As long as the admission letter remains valid, there won't be need to stop attending classes. When the new admission letter is out, then there will be academic record transfer to the prospect school or as the case may be. One Love! |

Ettolic:You can go ahead and register your biz.. and also go ahead and apply for your admission.. since you are self-sponsored, u will need to use the biz as an evidence of proof of fund but don't use your biz account in applying for your visa. I suggest you use your savings account to do that. Also you will need to explain vividly why you are going for the intended course since you are self employed and not using your certificate to work |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Ettolic: 6:33pm On Jun 02, 2020 |
Anon123: Thanks anon123 for your response, the question is can I use buiz registration less than 6month for a proof of fund for my visa application. What's my chances |

Good morning house Please I need some direction I got admission for fall 2020 to study professional accounting at fanshawe college, My main sponsor is my mum who is a midwife/nurse in dubai with a monthly pay of 1mill but her current Acct bal is 1.5mill so she’s applying for education loan that will cover my tuition, living expenses for the one year program, does it raise a red flag?? Does it mean I can’t tender this bank statement when applying for study permit Please please please, kindly assist with some insight. Thanks |

ojzreal: My suggestion, Since this year academic calendar has been disrupted, why not defer your admission to next year probably may, From now till then you mum would have enough money to present, rather than going for education loan for you.. My own OP 1 Like |
