BREAKING! Ebonyi Records First Case Of Coronavirus As Index Case Made Contacts  With 300 Persons ( VIDEO)

The Ebonyi state governor David Umahi confirmed on Sunday 26th April, that one case of the deadly Coronavirus were recorded in the state.

Ebonyitvnews reports that this is the first time the disease has shown up in the state

Umahi during a statewide broadcast on Sunday which was monitored by Ebonyitvnews gives a detailed movement of the index patience .

According to him, “The index case is a 31years old man from Ukawu In Onicha local government of Ebonyi state, he runs a hire purchase business with his sienna vehicle which he uses to carry food items to Ore in Ondo  state”

“Usually after selling this food items he uses his vehicle to carry passengers back to south east. He has made two journey this year, one of  which is 29th of march and returned to Ebonyi on 1st April, the second journey was about 12th of April. while in Ore, he could not bring passengers back to south east, and he had to wait for sometimes in Ore, sleeping at motor parks and filling station. And when he could not get passengers, he started making his way back to Ebonyi state.”

“On his way, he saw three Ebonyians that was speaking Ebonyi language, he stopped and they told him they were going back to Ebonyi state but were stranded, they called their parents and the parents agreed and that he should bring them back and they will pay him while in Ebonyi state. He picked the three Ebonyians together with himself and they started coming back home, And that was about 15th of April, they were making their way to Ebonyi state about 15th of April till about 24th of April when they got to the border of Ebonyi state”.

“From his accounts, they were sleeping in filling stations and parks while making their way back to Ebonyi state. He wangles his way through the borders and passed through Ivo local government, and passed through Afikpo North Local government and got to Okposi in Ohaozara local government were the chairman of the local government and his team caught  him.”

“First they drag him to the Okpossi police post, because of our policy, our policy in the state is that when any Ebonyi man has gotten to a border, there is nothing you do that he will not come into the state, and again a government shouldn’t  allowed their people to be stranded when they made effort to be at the border, so our policy has being to get this people to the stadium especially if they are coming from the state were we have case, so for their own safety and the safety of the entire public, we put them in the stadium in the capital city, give them food three times a day allow them to 2-4days to conduct test on them and hire vehicle to take them back to their respective home.  And this has paid-off because if we had tried to stop him from coming, he would have made his way by any means to the community and this would have being a serious problem to us, but he managed to wangle his way through the first local government and the second one which means that the task force at Ohaozara LGA were able to meet him in their net inline with our policy. We are not  punishing anybody who has managed their way into Ebonyi state but we want the person to identify him or herself so that we can do proper testing for his own health benefits and that of the entire community”

“So the police station in Okpossi now took him to the neighborhood watch who took him to the stadium where the medical team and security agencies received him among with other returnees and a test was conducted on him and it appear positive”

“When I was told last night, I directed that they should repeat the test this morning since the other three are doing negative that was carried. and so the test was also repeated on the three and himself, and his own return positive and the other still negative”

“The young man is strong, he is not feeling sick, he is not showing any symptoms and so we have isolated him and putting him in one of the rooms of our isolation centres”.

“He made contact with about 300 people when in the stadium, though not physical contact, but to be on a side of the caution, we have directed that the three hundred people should be with the next two days tested totally so that if they were ok, we send them back to their respective homes”

“Ebonyians  have nothing to fear because this young man that tested positive didn’t make any other contact apart from the one we have describe. but for avoidance of doubt, we request that anyone who made contact with him without our knowledge should please report to the stadium at the capital city so that you will be tested. all we desire is to make Ebonyians that are coming in to be tested for their good and for the good of everybody in the state. we are not arresting anybody, we are not punishing anybody, they are feeding well, and they have food three times a day, they have water to bath, and medical facilities incase anybody is not feeling fine. after the test we usually take them back to their respective local government.We are committed in doing testing of about 2000 people in the next 7days in Ebonyi state” He stated

Imagine if one person like this can have contact with 300 people then what happen to 40 index cases with wide possible contact with healthy people.

Coronavirus is scary in many wdys.

Not to sound insensitive to ebony state people but Congrats to the governor he can now join gandollar and the rest to ask for billions from FG

God forbid bad thing, may God almighty Safeguard Ebonyi state from this dangerous viruses.

Thank God the 300 contacts he made are those he met at the isolation center. All of them should remain there till the next 14 days.
