Heavily armed men of the Nigerian police force in Uyo whisked away public commentator, Mr George Udom at around 1:15 a.m on Monday April 27 after ransacking his home.

The police did not disclose why they attacked the socialite but many people have attributed his abduction to a recent criticism of the governor where he accused to governor of Akwa Ibom state of playing politics with the covid-19 pandemics.

In a series of post on his facebook page, he asked the state government to stop hiding figures of people with Covid-19, he disclosed how more than 30 prominent people in the state are being shielded from quarantine and how the governor sacked the states chief entomologist for insisting on following due covid-19 test procedure.

The police whisked George Udom away to an unknown destination and he has not been released as at the time of this report.
