Liliantalks: No one is mocking??!... Really??! At what point did 'Drunk' become a term of endearment??! Please, most businesses in Asaba and other parts of Delta state basically survive on and thrive off Onitsha!!! No need to pretend about this... They can easily stay in their Anambra, but can you guarantee that your people won't agitate or even fight to cross that bridge??! 1 Like |

Omo nawa for you oo. This your tribal mark no get equal at all. This is a major market we are talking about; do you think it is possible to keep a physical distance in any market regardless of size being a place where people flock in and out both sellers and buyers for business transaction. Is there any major market in the world where physical distancing is being observed? Even in the Mile-12 market in Lagos that has been open all through the Lock-down, physical distancing is rarely observed. Even in the compound where you stay, among your neigbhours; do you maintain any physical distance? Even the elites, when they buried one of their own recently, all clustered themselves. Rather than picking on other tribes for no justification; the best you could do is to offer them an advice how they could maintain physical distance among themselves in a major market like that... May GOD help have mercy on us all... 1 Like |

Frankcallys: I can feel you. It seems Anambra is trying to foil the business of those making money from covid-19 situation. Ghana was on partial lockdown before it was lifted last week. Till date, no emergency situation in Ghana. I know PMB will never lift lockdown until loan request is granted. Once loan request is given, there will be false alarms from States. Most alarms here are not from Anambra or Delta, they are mostly from individuals benefitting from this corona fund 1 Like |

Herdsmen:I am sure . No state has monopoly ownership of that bridge . I grew up passing that bridge on a daily thank you . Its called head bridge not onitsha bridge the river isn’t onitsha river . That’s river cut across all Niger delta regions , not even the east. That river is also in bayalsa to rivers ,, also named the head bridge . |

nijabazaar:Your irresponsible ideas are all that concern me There is nothing like peer review paper That is just a phrase you threw in to distract from the meaninglessness of your contribution. There is a process of peer review yes but peer review paper is a meaningless notion As far as herd immunity and the 200000 figure there is nothing to say any epidemiology model from one country would apply in another Finally we are yet to understand what individual immunity to Covid 19entails and so it is too early yo make speculations about herd immunity. Smallpox was around for centuries killing millions and that never translated into herd immunity. Herd immunity is not a given. It does not always happen. HIV is a glaring example. When it does there is no requirement that people MUST DIE for it to occur |

nijabazaar: Sigh... This is all shades of wrong and pointless!!! Could it be that you were quite inebriated while typing this??!... No one should die of hunger over a virus that after over 30 days of incubation and spread in Nigeria has failed to show even a quarter of the virulence clearly shown abroad!!! Do you actually think countries like America, China, Italy or even Spain would have bothered continuing lock down if at this time they had our overall figures?!... Some of you are so far removed from reality it just saddens me, and makes me wonder when you will all grow up and begin to really fend for yourselves. Smh. P.S. Herd Immunity is real and classically evident in Nigeria!!! Bill Gates and his missus should suck on that!!! |

Angelfrost: Do we really need to wait for to Covid show a quarter of the virulence abroad here? Can we risk that. My analogy in the quote u mentionioned is simply to illustrate the point that this community herd thing the government is adopting will render us all useless. Vaccine for covid is scheduled for 2021 ooo. Ecuador adopted this approach of ours and they lay in their numbers. Heck, even here in Nigeria whilst the rest of the south were on partial or total lockdown, Kano was agog and all of a sudden 650 mysterious deaths.... I repeat, hunger killing a few is better than Covid murdering g thousands. America you mentioned reached a peak after 55k dead. They have the resources to ensure gradual ease of lockdown. They have the resources to enforce mandatory covid precautions. In Nigeria we are a giANT when it comes to precautions In a proper country, mandatory wearing of masks would work but here, I wonder how we could do that with the Bus park agberos or the market women |

Liliantalks: Sigh... Dear Sister, if anyone should be closing or regulating border entry, it should be Anambra and Obiano... Honestly, I expect them to do so as a matter of urgency and their own safety. Asaba will be the ones begging to be let into Onitsha, and Obiano should be wise enough to pointedly refuse!!! At least till Okowa sorts his state out!!! |
Re: Thousands Of People Wait For Onitsha Main Market To Open (Photos) by Liliantalks: 11:37am On Apr 28, 2020 |
Herdsmen:that bridge can never be onitsha bridge , because it’s a passage way going to onitsha don’t mean it’s onitsha bridge, let me remind you that u can’t go to onitcha without getting to asaba, except u r passing thru Enugu , which is too far for people coming from the west n north . That bridge is even located in asaba. If we want to even start up an arguement about who has or not hv the bridge , but I believe both sides don’t hv monopoly ownership to the bridge . |
