The churches in the middle east has for as long as l can remenber being persecuted severely but thank God for the stronge will and determination of men and women of God, christians dedicated to their convictions and believe. We all cannot go to the middle east physically the same manner we all cannot go to europe but we pray for those there and sponsor missionary work and ventures to these areas.
There is an interesting instance in scripture where the apostle paul and his companions where stopped by the Holy Spirit from preaching yes! Preaching in Asia while almost at the same time they got a witness that God had called them to go and preach the word in Mscedonia.

Acts 16:6-10
"Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, after they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not. And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas. And a vision appeared to paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over to Macadonia and help us. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them."

The bible even used a far more stronger word to express the refusal experienced by paul "FORBIDDEN"
This was paul's personal experience and guildiance it didn't imply that same instruction were given to others no it simply reveals to us how God functions because later on in the years following te same apostle paul took the gospel to the same Asia.
