IamMichael:I heard this light skinned short man who was a brand ambassador for Etisalat, he's also a comic actor.(hafiz or something like that) I heard he's a lecturer and I get very appalled when he shoots movies with semi illiterates and you who is a lecturer in theatre arts cannot bring a level of sanity and depth into movie making.it surprises me a lot |

irunoko:Bro, you do know that there are a lot of factors that are considered before shooting a movie. Cost of production is one of them... Casting, Location, Extras, etc are always the top of the list. Most Nigerian Producers don't have the cash to make good movies, so they make budget movies with bad CGI and the rest... You can't really blame them entirely anyway shaa...Film making is expensive! |

IamMichael:then they should borrow money if need be.dont they see how Hollywood get big loans from multinationals to make movies and when it comes out it becomes madddd.if it's money that is the hindering factor from making good movies, get a loan because it appears that the more mediocrity and foolishness you can display, the more you will be celebrated in this part of the world and the next thing is that you're back already labelled a celebrity. There is no how multinational companies will not support you with big loans if you can do something that will wow them.you cannot be doing the same thrash and expect support from big names.if na you nko? Will you financially support a child that you know will not yield good fruits or dividends for you? The first thing is forget about pirates.position yourself in such a way that multinationals will be fighting among themselves to pump money into your project then when you produce a movie that will blow their mind,if Tomorrow you say you want to do another movie you think they will think twice before pumping money into you? If they can do that , they'll be the ones protecting your interest because your interest is already their interest and they have a stake in it so they'll use all their resources to kill every pirate. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hollywood is too much, they take their time to make movies, everyone has a specific role in movie production, here after shooting for two weeks the movie will be released, you see some one after acting only a few movies becomes a director and producer |

irunoko:It's not that easy o... After making an expensive movie, you also know the tickets to watch it in cinema's will be expensive right? The majority of Nigerians do not have cinema movie culture. Most of us will prefer to wait out the cinema run and download it free online after... This percentage is very wide, and the they're the majority of the likely target group.. The middle income earners won't see the need to bring out N2500 to go to the cinema and watch a movie they could buy 150naira in pirated copies. We have a weak Copyright system in the country at the moment. The lesser income earners that eats from daily proceeds will not bring out N2500 to go and watch a movie at the cinema or buy an original DVD at N1500 for instance. The average Nigerians do not have that much zeal either as everyone is focused on their families first and rarely have time for entertainment except on Home videos. And most of them are only free on Sundays and Christmas holidays. The rich, well...I don't know the stats here, but they cannot make up a large majority of movie goers. A lot of things to consider, but it can be done. If cinema's are built in most towns and cities all over the country, market it well and induce that cinema going culture, then Nollywood will start making big budget movies. |

joshjc:@bolded, the thing is tiring... But, what can they do? Everyone is being cost effective and using opportunity cost and scale of preference to determine productions to engage in...man must chop anyhow. If you think you can make it better with your own ideas, i don't think anyone will stop you... |

If you ask me o, I will wholeheartedly tell you that "I'm tired of watching all these Nollywood movies with poor visual effects, especially all these their fake gun shots, fake fire and fake disappearance, amateur car accident scenes... a lot of it. I guess that's one of the reasons their script virtually look the same. I saw a video on YouTube; these Nigeria guys recently started teaching Nigerians on how to create movie effects. I researched and did chat with one of them. These guys have been underground doing their visual effects thing. When I wrote them, their response was more like they don't want to forcefully grab the industry. I have that feeling that they are into something BIG... well, who knows?! I feel they are going to be one of the best VFX companies in Nigeria. I also watched one of their music video effects. Mehn! Bro, these guys are good. I started reasoning on how they could change the storylines in our Nigerian film industry (Nollywood movies). At least if it won't be a bad idea if I see a Sci-Fi movie produced in Nigeria. You should watch their video on Facebook or YouTube to see for yourself. https://www.facebook.com/vfx9ja https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkGgpcczzlU |
