I love Lucky Dube. His music taught me many things. His background vocalists are superb. I love how he can change his voice to falsetto, I love his stage performances, very energetic and engaging,. Most importantly, the message in his songs. He was a prolific songwriter. He was also a social crusader. He sang about the many ills of the society- apartheid, bad governance, love and heartbreaks, juvenile deliquency, disunity, poverty, injustice, discrimination, crime, war etc

It's very unfortunate that he fell a victim of those very ills of the society that he campaigned about. May his murderers never know peace.

One good thing about reggae, when it hits you ya feel no pain. For me reggae is best to relax the soul, the messages inside reggae non genres gat it. Anything you are looking for is inside reggae.

Bob Marley's songs were jivvy and it appealed more to the western media thus all the hype. In contrast Peter Tosh was more political and militant in his style which the west didn't like. Bob marley over time towards his death became more African conscious. Peter Tosh was the unsung hero.
