Nigeria Poverty Statistics by Databod: 7:47pm On May 06, 2020
2019 Poverty & Inequality in Nigeria report published by The Nigerian Bureau of Statistics shows that 82.9 million Nigerians can be classified as poor by national standards (40.09 of Nigeria’s population).

Breakdown:
States with the highest poverty rate
Sokoto – 87.73%
Taraba – 87.72%
Jigawa – 87.02%
Ebonyi – 79.76
Adamawa – 75.41

States with the lowest poverty rate
Lagos – 4.50%
Delta – 6.02%
Osun – 8.52%
Ogun – 9.3%
Oyo – 9.8%

In terms of family size, only 17.88% of Nigerians with a family size of 2-4 are poor, while 67.27% of those with a family size of 10-19 and 77.66% of those with a family size of 20 and above live below the poverty line.

How a lot of our leaders are from the North but still the majority of their population suffers from poverty beats me.
