I was exhausted, after making research on recent scholarships for students in Nigeria, and decided to take some fresh breath for the first time in two weeks.

But what I saw was very encouraging; a place that is known for its congestion has been deserted—everyone seating and working inside with families.

This place is Weatherhead, Sabon gari ( for most of you that are familiar with the environment). It can serve as a yardstick for expressing the adherence of the inhabitants of Sabon Gari with regards to the lockdown order by the Presidency, with the state government.

But what baffles me, till date, is that some sound still echoes through the tall prayer houses around here. Sometimes, I wonder if there are measures that ensure social distancing in those prayer places, or just another means to spread the virus.

And this message should be creatively understood to be of national concern; this is because is Kano state is not safe, no other part of the country is safe. If you are in Kano, I want to hear from your observations.
