The Governor of Rivers state,Nyesom Wike has fulfilled his threat to demolish hotels operating in Port Harcourt,the state capital despite the ongoing directive to check the coronavirus pandemic.


Wike had earlier declared a 24-hour lockdown in the state and threatened to pull down hotels and buildings whose shops are opening during the lockdown,placing the capital city comprising Port Harcourt and Obio-Akpo local government areas on curfew.



The Commissioner for Information and Communication,Paulinus Nsirim,in a statement on Saturday,said some hotels were already found capable of disobeying the lockdown directive of Nyesom Wike.
