The beatingcorona.ng platform and the Naija Relief Base, a data-gathering intervention unit, to help bolster data gathering has announced a partnership to enable a more diverse, nuanced and detailed expansion of the socially-relevant database, and improve the tracking of interventions and connecting people to the help they need.

The research and collation team at BeatingCorona.ng has consistently promoted the mental health centers directory. Editor, Nelson C.J, stresses that “the platform, [beatingcorona.ng] directory is very important to us, as the effect of this pandemic on our mental health is truly incalculable and very present, especially now that physical therapy is not a readily accessible option. We are always excited to update our directory with new initiatives who are responding and intervening in the mental health department”.

Much recently, Kano State in North-West Nigeria, has been plagued by an alarmingly increasing number of COVID-19 cases. While there are profound fears of a possible outbreak at any time, the state has continued to receive the help and intervention it needs, with more information provided on the beatingcorona.ng database.

Some of the present interveners are the Facemask Face Corona, an initiative of Ayama Raeal vision and Excellent enterprises which is providing food and relief materials for people in Kano and your Covid19 CSO Intervention, an initiative of Centre for Human Rights and Social Advancement (CEFSAN) that is also providing food and cash to the people of Kano.

The state is also set to benefit from the BUA Foundation N1 billion donated to 9 states. It will also receive 1,000 high-grade medical protection and isolation gear, 2,000 protective goggles, 1,000 gloves and 1,000 testing kits amongst other things.
