UYO LG V'CHAIRMAN EULOGISE GOVERNOR EMMANUEL ON THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19

...urges indigenes to adhere governments directives

As the fight against the ravaging Covid-19 pandemic is setting the world and its social and economic value ablaze, Otuekong Hon. Ukai Udeme Emmanuel, The Vice Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council has applauded Governor Udom Emmanuel on his stupendous strides to cambat with the pandemic in Akwa Ibom State.

Hon. Ukai Udeme Emmanuel gave this accolades to the Governor and the leadership of the state on Tuesday during a one and one interactive session with selected media practitioners, stating that Mr. Udom Emmanuel has proved to Akwa Ibom State, the global community and the world at large the dividends of effective and efficient leadership to her people in this trying moment.

He stated that His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel had taken the bull by the horn towards combating with the pandemic at all ramifications by sending palliatives to more than two thousand villages, religious organizations, groups, and other stratas which consisted of rice, garri, flour and beans including cash in the state.

He noted that the palliatives which was all produced in Akwa Ibom State was as a result of the foresight of the Governor by building 18 functional industries in the state which today, the idea behind the industries has manifested itself most especially at this trying time which according to him has employed thousands of the teeming youths in the state.

Otuekong Ukai stressed that the pandemic didn't come to meet Akwa Ibom State unprepared due to the visionary leadership of the state Governor by putting up 300 Bed Capacity Isolation Center For Quarantine And Prevention of Infectious Disease located at Methodist General Hospital, Ituk Mbang which will be commissioned subsequently is part of the measures taken by the government to contain the pandemic in the state.

The Vice Chairman however called on all and sundry, private institutions, organizations, groups, religious bodies to contribute their quota, partner and support the government to fight against Covid-19 and also urged the indigenes to obey the government directives against the spread of the deadly Coronavirus in Nigeria.
