I believe the greatest hurdle of Jonathan becoming the president, has been scaled because the President faced stiff opposition within his own party, meanwhile getting a huge support from opposition parties. I have never witnessed before in this life where a huge number of opposition parties will endorse PDP presidential candidate even though most of them don't have strong hold on the people's vote, but not withstanding they endorsed Jonathan as their candidate. Its quite a long time also i have seen a president being loved by a lot of Nigerians, is it because of his leadership style or hope of a better tomorrow or the way he conducted himself before and after he became president. I find myself asking this questions, he must be an extremely lucky person or what. 1. He was hand picked for Deputy Governor 2. He became the Governor without being voted for. 3. He was handpicked for Vice President 4. He became the President without being voted for. 5. On his becoming Acting President, Obama met him, George Bush, Condoliler Rice, Tony Blair all came to visit him. It would have been a major blow if he didn't get the PDP ticket to represent them, but it was a very tensed PDP convention, even Jonathan was not totally sure of his victory. We congratulate Our President of Getting the ticket for PDP to contest as their Presidential candidate, and we also hope he will get the people's vote to rule them once more. |
