A seventeen years boy named Ebitari Ekiokimi has surprisingly killed a sea animal all alone without the help of anybody and brought the animal to shore proudly. Ebitari who happens to be a fisherman is said to be one of the most popular and skilled fishermen in his community because he never goes to fish without coming back with fishes . The young boy was reported to have gone to the river to get some fish to sell as he usually does and to his surprise saw the huge sea lion which kept passing in front him. He stated that he took his spear and struck the animal in the head killing it all of a sudden and brought it ashore with a broad smile signifying his satisfaction at what he had done. They should stop killing & eating on instincts. These riverside bushmen need to be educated. I've never seen a sea lion... I am sure there are Nigerians like myself willing to pay to see one. 1 Like |

That doesn't look a Sea Lion... Call it something else, please. Where are the zoologists and taxonomists in the house? For the records, Sea Lions can't be found in this part of Africa. You can only find them around the coastlines of Namibia and parts of the coastlines of Southern Africa from what I was told. |

Icechillz: Nigerians are not the only people who eat creatures like these. Even people in the "civilized climes" that we like to razz on and on about hunt this particular creature that you see in the picture with reckless abandon because of its flesh. Yes, even North Americans and Europeans like to eat them and use other parts of their bodies such as the blubbers for commercial purposes and they hunt them by the hundreds or even thousands yearly. We haven't even gotten to their level yet. Trust me. We are still very much at subsistence level. |

richeeyo: Simply because the greedy, lifeless and clueless octogenarians and septuagenarians and others at the helm of did not allow him to be educated to that extent, mortgage his future, denies him the benefits of the resources mined at his door step. It is myopic and daft of you to call the boy fool and spare the ones who looted and still looting his future 3 Likes |
