I deal with fact and not hear say. The same letter was sent to us in Vietnam too and no one cares to listen to them. How can one run from frying pan to fire. Vietnam has 200+ cases of Covid 19 and no death reported and almost all are treated and discharged without paying a kobo to the vietnam hospital. They were all fed by the vietnam government and most milliary baracks were used for Qurantine. Nigeria, which way?

If Federal Government pays for everything, i bet you that no Nigeria in Vietnam is even ready to return back home. How can one jump from frying pan to fire. Who does that?... lol |

My take is that Nigerians staying back home hate Nigerians living abroad. What help are Nigerian government giving to their stranded citizens. It is so bad that after so many freewill donations by Nigerians and foreign aids, Nigerian government is still tasking their citizens on the amount to pay before they are airlifted. i weep for Nigeria |

Slawormir: Oga name 1 country that is charging their citizens for evacuation flights and 2 weeks quarantine? Please name 1 country with proof.... The way we trivalize things in this country is absurd.. Everything isn't a joke oga. Put yourself in the shoes of these stranded citizens before you go making a joke of things like this. What else can a country do for its citizens? If a person is opting to leave Bangkok or canada or dubai or the United states which by many standards, are better countries, and return to Nigeria to be quarantined for 2 weeks, an experience we all know is not pleasant, dont you think it is because such a person is stranded and has no choice? Is it now sensible to ask such a stranded citizen to pay over half a million naira (including flight fare) before he or she can be rescued by his or her country? If in a time like this, where there is a global health disaster, stranded citizens are not able to run to their embassy for help without being asked to pay for the assistance their own country gives them, what else can a country do for its citizens if it cannot offer humanitarian aid at the time of a disaster? What ever happened to all the money that has been donated to help the federal government at this time? What ever happened to all the loot we have recovered? What about the money we have borrowed? What happened? Are our leaders not still earning fat salaries today? Did you think of all this before making fun of stranded people? 1 Like |

Daguccizgreat: What do you suggest? should the government pay for all stranded Nigerians around the world? don't forget that Covid 19 was brought into the country by these returnees so should the not be quarantined? do you know American government isn't paying for evacuation of their own stranded citizens? 1 Like |

what makes u think is everyone abroad that is working, some traveled for business and was caught up by flight restrictions and so many many people lost their jobs because of COVID-19, is fine for them to buy ticket , but what is the government doing for this people and why cant they pay for their hotel bills and feeding , afterall some money was allocated to federal government for this reason . No,one is not querying the payment of tickets for flight;rather, the payment of accommodation and feeding.who gets the money?not these officials, cos trust me,it will be sub contracted out to their cronies.not all if these Nigerians are that wealthy enuf,to afford 15k accommodation charges.considerations should be made and hotels that charge half of that, sought out and these, made suitable. Don't just spew rubbish, because you are government and add to peoples discomfort |

MoIbrahim:If there is anything your government has shown, is how well it can collect money from its citizens using every trick. The problem is not how much you generate but if you cant utilize the little you have then dont think you will suddenly become efficient because there is more. You give your son 500 to manage for a week. He squanders it in 1 day and cant point to anything tangible he spent it on. What do you do? Do you increase his allowance to 1k5 per week or do you cut off his alowance? Simple logic. Get your head out of your ass |

Mizwisdom:The same American govt gave each of her citizen atleast $1k as palliative in this season of covid-19. If at all what you said is true, Trump govt cannot charge the returnees as high as the their counterpart in Nigeria has done. That is not fair. |

Daguccizgreat: Will my empathy make Buhari decide to pay their bills? if it was possible I would be the first to show empathy, we were discussing based on logic hence I was logical about it but if my empathy is needed to get the government to change it's mind then I hereby throw my weight behind the empathy crew 1 Like |
