If the current spate of cult related murder is not stemmed ASAP.

It is sad, really sad that the once great city of Benin has been turned into a den of vagabonds, kidnappers, robbers, cultists and yes unscrupulous politicians. Specifically, it is no longer news that secret cults that were once more or less exclusive to the nations tertiary institutions, have now spread its tentacles, vis-a-vis membership to every nook and cranny of the state. From the conductors, to the welders, to the unemployed. From children as young as 8 years to grown up men old enough to be grandfathers, you have them all as "open" cultist in Benin.

And it is no longer news that these cults particularly the and EIYEE dash into violent and fatal conflicts at the flimsiest excuse. And in this atmosphere of violence nothing is sparred, the only object of meaning in these youths brain is death at all cost.

Lets not kid ourselves, Benin is awash with deadly weapons. It has never been easier to gain assess to guns, and not any gun, i am talking of top of the range AK 47, etc. Now for a raised offer you could also acquire bombs, grenades and the like. No wonder the casualties are rising with each confrontation.

Only yesterday a man in his 40s, a family man, married with 3 children, aged 5years, 3 years and 5 months, met with these sons of Satan purportedly from the CULT. He had only had his dinner with his family and decided to take a stroll to his from garden to experience some cool harmattan breeze. Immediately he was surrounded by a group of 6 youths demanding to know if he was  . . . . . .

Unfortunately they came looking for his youngest sibling presumably to be assassinated. But as fate would have it they both look alike and despite his best efforts to contest his identity, it fell on deaf ears.

Attempts by his family to lunch a rescue bid by pleading with his captors were rebuffed by sporadic gunshots fired into the air. He was told to lie on the ground and then struck a deadly blow on his neck with an axe. In a final bid to save his life, he summoned his adrenalin reserve and tried to make a dash.

However, even the gods appeared powerless to save him as a single gunshot to his breastbone snuffed out what was his life. He died almost immediately. He lay there for hours, face up, almost grinning, as if trying to reassure his family not to mourn as he had gone to a better place. How can someone with so much life be dead? How can the world be this wicked?

What value do these youths attach to human life? 40 something glorious years ended in such a pathetic and utterly wasteful manner. And it later came to light that at least 9 other persons may have been killed in similar fashion withing the past week in Benin.

When will this madness end? How did it start? How did we get here? Benin, i weep for Benin.

How come this is not been given an aprropriate coverage in the media? What about the government? What active steps are been taken to save the youths from believe me potential extinction? These are the so called leaders of tommorrow being extinguished.

Lets wake up, we should not sleep walk into an abyss. Enough is enough.

save for mistaken identities,they all deserve what they got. When u join a cult of such dimension u should be prepared to be hunted n get killed whenever there are clashes. Live by the sword,die by the sword.
