Eberejesus111: Bro you should never decide for a people, Biafra and Edo are tired of this contraption. It's only logical you let them go. Telling us stories just to hinder us is selfish . The European Union you talk about hasn't Britain left it? 1 Like |

valirex: Good, but if peradevnture they do secede. Look at the balance, do you want to secede and secede again, and continue seceding till nothing. If you're seceding based on the ego that "we are the best, and we can handle ourselves" it's foolish. But if you're seceding, only for the reason to make a good change for your citizens, then that's good. Ego is good as deemed fit, but have you weighed the pros and cons. Weigh them with all the suggestions I gave above and tell me what you think? |
Re: Do You Like An Edoid Nation? by valirex: 8:12pm On May 17, 2020 |
Eberejesus111: I have weighed the pro and cons and the pros out weighs the cons. There won't be more seceding if we go with just homogeneous Edos |

AreaFada2:i completely understand all what you said.. but you know politics changes people! Many of the areas you called Edo, even though they were once Edo but they are now saying the need to be left alone, so I'm not bothering myself about them. As for Edo north and esan creating their own state, do you know that was the original plan they had before Edo state was created? They changed their mind at the last minute. I know many ipob are using esan anti benin stance and it's working. I joined their Facebook group and most believe they are "superior" to Benin, they are even spreading that Benin people including oba originated from esan. I'm completely fine with just Edo south to stand alone if needs be. Low population Faster development Unity |

Mystiquefia: Dem be mofos, edo on its own with the little population are very outspoken politically in nigeria but check the other minority group that even speak more population than edo state in terms of their political participation in national level is zero.... The biggest fear of a delta man is marginalization all of them have that mumu mentality thats why Mary babangida took thesame marginalization mentality to favour asaba as the state capital, the urhobo and the others were barking like dog that had only one puppy after conceving.... But the esan man that was opportuned to do that in edo refuse and still mainted benin as edo capital....... Today delta is practicing rotary system of power, Because of the marginalization mentality, that same self centered attitude drove most oil companies away from delta state.... Delta state na mumu state nor be today Most schools in edo from nursery to tertiary institutions are all occupied by delta indigenes after edo people in edo state the next people in Edo state are delta people especially urhobos but ask them how many edo can they find in delta state the way we find delta people in edo state..... Na mumu state delta be Same useless mentality say delta nor dey carry last We edo we go dey alright as a country on our own 3 Likes |

Mystiquefia: Well, lostz conveniently blamed Benin for grabbing everything. So I made it clear Benin didn't. But he has not blamed Asaba-based govt for taking capital city, airport and other developments that have made Asaba the Nollywood town. Asaba has had more effect on Delta since 29 years (21 years of democracy). Benin was Midwest/Bendel capital for 28 years of which only 8 years and 3 months was democratic rule. Of the democratic period, Ogbemudia (only Benin governor) was governor for less than 3 months. If Isoko has not made much impact in Delta with fewer tribes in 21 years, why blame Benin for Isoko not making impact in 8 years long ago? If anything, it was tribes in proximity to Isoko that overshadowed Isoko in that zone. True, for outsiders, Urhobo, Okpe & Isoko are virtually same. So if they agree on their distinctiveness, they should be reaching a consensus and decide together who to bring out. This they can decide to rotate. |

gregyboy: On the ground that Edo Central & North agree. Otherwise, two states needed. We cannot afford to waste precious time battling internal division. |
Re: Do You Like An Edoid Nation? by AreaFada2: 11:02pm On May 17, 2020 |
Eberejesus111: In Benin for example, we have one Oba. Urhobo, Esan, Ijaw, Yoruba, Igbo and others have several monarchs. Division is likely when a people have no history of central govt together. Many dukes in Benin area are older stools than Oba of Lagos, Olu of Warri, Obi of Iseluku, Obi of Onitsha, ovies, orodjes, amayanabos and several ezes/obis. Yet these dukes remain dukes under authority of the Oba. Ogiegor/Duke of Ego near Benin is even older than the current Oba dynasty that began in 1170 AD. So we are used to a central authority since long ago. This is not just about ego, it's about elusive unity among Africans and practicality. In the future, it won't be about size but organisation and efficiency of a country. Smaller countries can share consular representation. Benin Kingdom or Afesan Republic (Afemai & Esan country) can share consular representation with Namibia, Lesotho, Zambia, Malta, Cyprus, Jamaica, Laos, eSwatini/Swaziland, The Bahama, The Gambia, Slovenia, The Maldives, Mauritius, etc. To save cost and assist citizens abroad. |

AreaFada2: An average delta person are self centered, and naturally easily feel oppressed i dont know why Just check the state politics in delta state it is full of tribalism every tribe wanr to dominate.... We dont need such people in a region they are ungrateful we pulled them out of western region and when they got free they cried we are marginalizing them just see urhobo and okpe in this issue of marginalizing, people for delta state get problem Just let them go we nor need them If you check the amount of Delta people in edo especially urhobo they are even more than what they have in delta state, open university in benin is fully occupied by deltans in edo here, today i even entered bus with a delta guy....... They complain we marginalize them in Midwestern reg, and yet they are still flocking our state for survival 1 Like |

Re: Do You Like An Edoid Nation? by davidnazee: 2:26am On May 18, 2020 |
AreaFada2: Well said.. No need to talk too much.. Edo will NEVER be part of Yoruba or any other entity.. Delta can join Biafra if they wish to, Edo is strong and good on its own. All we probably need is an access to the sea and we can take a part of Delta for that.. So Edo may end up sharing Delta with Biafra.. |

davidnazee:Attach by force I guess? Well, I'll not behave like you lots who shout on top of your voice at the mention of Biafra, claiming Igbo's want to force unwilling people into Biafra yet find same method inevitable in conceiving your own country. The truth remains that as much as i hate the idea, Biafra may end up claiming urhobo and itshekiri. Even Edo risk being taken by Biafra. Most Igbo's including myself vehemently reject the idea of adding them to Biafra. But then, they are aloof. In times like this it's not allowed to just sit and wait for when Biafra news comes up to insult, you have to have your own aspiration. Since Edo secessionist movement is not forthcoming, it'll be foolhardy to reject both Oduduwa and Biafra. Claiming to belong to neither of them can actually mean belonging to either of them without negotiated terms. |

Re: Do You Like An Edoid Nation? by Armaggedon: 7:33pm On May 18, 2020 |
valirex:That's not the point. Igbos don't need them. Ever seen an Igbo campaigning for urhobo and itshekiri or Edo to join Biafra? while I don't hate them, I don't want them also. my point is Ipob already included them and many of them hate the oodua republic idea while having no dream of their own. It follows that the available which is Biafra could become desirable for them. |
Re: Do You Like An Edoid Nation? by valirex: 7:41pm On May 18, 2020 |
Armaggedon: Ok let me enlighten you, Edo is fully independent and already agitating. And when we feel the time is right we will make it public. Even though most parts of SS do not agitate it not enough reason to force them into your biafra. I see kanu as wasting his time, have you seen the way SS people insults IPOB? Making it vehemently clear they are not interested in a mini Nigeria |
Re: Do You Like An Edoid Nation? by Armaggedon: 8:09pm On May 18, 2020 |
valirex:That's what you think which is in fact not correct. We are not known and have never been known throughout history to force people. If they opt out via a referendum we let them be. southern Cameroon did so. Today nobody remembers they were ever part of eastern region except themselves b'cos of their plight. I don't need to go down the history lane but you must know that while it's easy to say SS minorities did this or that, it's not so in reality. The Ijaw, kalabari, okirika, ibani on one hand and efik, Ibibio, annang and ogoja have mixed with their Igbo neighbours so much for one to believe they will reject Biafra and opt for any other arrangement. moreover they have their people in Ipob. forget the online rejection, the decisive moment will prove. The way you guys make your calculations on Niger delta republic makes me believe you actually think there will be a time when all Nigerian ethnic groups will be given a chance to choose what they want. I don't think so. It is those who challenge the oppressor that the oppressor calls for negotiations. |
