Apparently adding extra front wheels improves traction in the wet and gives better braking because of the two extra brakes. Covini drew drom the Tyrell P34 Formula1 car that had a 1-2 finish in 1976.


Although the car was retired from racing because Goodyear the tire supplier found the development too expensive and shifted focus to the other four wheeled cars. Most of the racing teams in that era had six-wheeled prototypes ready for the next year.

Its advantages were evident for the era and most of the challenges like irregular wheel lock-up could be solved by ABS today. The problem is its advantages still outweigh the cost as tire and suspension technology has given four wheel cars some reinforcement. Its interesting that Covini is building the car. Although not as elegant as the four wheels our eyes are used to, it adds variety to the supercar market.

, did I forget to say the styling is not my cup of tea? I do like the idea though.

1) make it convertible
2) drop the susspensions about 5- 10 inch will do
3)those extra wheel not a bad idea
