I remembered how that baby factory business started in south east. Although its really a bad act that must be condemned but let me use the opportunity to shed more light on its origin.

The catholic church has numerous motherless baby homes all over south east. In Igbo land, the society abhors women who give birth out of wedlock.
In fact, they hardly marry again. And if they should, they end up in the hands of old men or men without any tangible fortunes.

Hence most women are always chased out of their parents homes if they get pregnant for bringing shame to the family. The church in its wisdom decided to constitute a societal group who reaches out to such victims, take them into their facility and habors them until they give birth to the baby.
They will decide after a year or so if they want the child or leave it with the reverend sisters. Off course most of them chose to leave the baby instantly.

The baby is brought up in a motherless baby home and become adopted by women seeking the fruits of the womb. Problem is that such adopted kids are always known to the society who are also apprehensive to such practice. This is where business people looked at it and were like OK, what if the whole practice is made secret and also money become involved. Before you knew it, booom, baby factory was introduced as a business. One nagging question is "What if some of the kids are used for rituals?"

This is where I said our problem is largely the government who fails to think. They fail to try and see how to check the positives of this acts and try to remove the negatives of it. If only this child was sold out to a rich family seeking for the fruit of the womb. Or may be dashed out instead. there are many kids who are suffering today because they ended up in the wrong parents hands. Forget blood. Africans will always come up with stories like,"She is not my blood". How many of your are lucky to stay with a father who is your true blood? Most mothers give men children that are not their own and life goes on for as long as no DNA test is carried out.

Many Nigerians would wish they were sold at tender age to Dangote family. I mean very unlucky Nigerians who were brought up in acute poverty and hunger. While many rich families and going helter skelter in search of the fruit of the womb, many girls are wishing they can dispose off their unfortunate kids. Government need to do something about all these. I cried watching this video. Especially when the mother described how she drown the innocent kid.

Something need to be done to many of these type of kids in Nigeria.
