....... Commissions Otuocha Water Scheme

The New Otuocha Regional Water Supply Scheme has been commissioned.

Governor Willie Obiano commissioned the project which will service three communities in Anambra East including Aguleri, Umueri and Umuoba Anam.

The project which was jointly executed by the European Union and the state government, sources water from the Omambala river and has the capacity to treat ten million liters of water daily.

From the Omambala river, the water is pumped to the Water tank in Otuocha, from where it is reticulated.

Governor Obiano said that the target is to take water to all parts of the local government, calling on them to help government by taking ownership of the project, to protect it.

Recall that when he inspected the project on January 24th 2020, Governor Obiano gave assurances that the project will become operations in April of 2020.

Commissioner for Public Utilities and Water Resources, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne, his works counterpart, Engineer Marcel Ifejiofor, traditional rulers of the three communities, among others, were present at the ceremony.

Despite COVID-19 Pandemic, Willie is Still Working.
