If Tomorrow Never Comes: Before Sunset by poetictwenty(m): 1:42pm On May 21, 2020
Yesterday is dead and tomorrow is yet unborn
So, all I have is today to call my own.
But if today should watch me take my last breath.
I ask that he listen to this silent wish of mine;
May he not meet me while I still have debt to pay:
Debt of unfulfilled dreams and promises.
May he not meet me counting my breaths,
Because of sorrows, pains and hopelessness.
May he meet me strong enough to carry my body,
Not bedridden by old age or ill health.
May he tarry till I gather the children of my children
To tell them tales my father learnt from his father.
May he come when I have no talent left for the grave to keep.
Because I want to leave all for my sons
And children like me who had no one to call father.
May I enter into the womb of mother Earth,
Same way I made my way into my mother's womb.
My father said only the gods knows the date of our death.
So I ask the gods to listen to my wish before late becomes my title
