Biafra is a village in cameroon, portugese explorers decided to name the coast from delta tributaries down to Gabon "the bight of biafra". Same way Benin kingdom, the portugese explorers decided to name the coast from Urobho up to present day benin republic as bight of benin, does that make the yorubas (oduduwa) to be benin people? does that also mean that urobhos are benin people?, the answer is no, because the yorubas, the urobhos,were never subject to the obas in benin kingdom. That a place in cameroon, ruled by whoever was used to name the coast of calabar can not tranform the efiks to become biafrans. somebody shld please ask kanu to name one igbo, efik, ijaw ibibio king that ruled biafra if biafra was a kingdom. I know some igbos are inteligent people, but kanu and his ipob are certainly not among, ipob kanu are full of giving out wrong information, with no evidenc, if can read map very well, check the particular point that biafra is located (cameroon), check benin (edo nigeria). If we must be free from european slavery, that map shld be discarded. No wonder obasanyo rename bonny coast, bight of bonny to reflect the inhabitance so that one day somebody frm cameroon willnot lay claim to bonny because of the name biafra which is in cameroon.
