A A 9 1 is seeking an experienced, hands-on leader to fill our Hotel Marketing & Sales Representative role at our A A 9 1 property in Jabi, Abuja.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To generate top line revenue for the hotel to meet or exceed budget expectations within the target market segment. Responsible for overall account management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Build and maintain rapport with competitor hotels, lead sources, clients and local community.
Advanced level of producing room, banquet, and room rental revenue through directly soliciting business via aggressive prospecting, making presentations, developing contracts, negotiating and closing sales.
Maximise revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients.
Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
Prepare information for, meet with and entertain clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account.
Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to all departments in the hotel to ensure high quality of service to customers.
Develop and maintain business/marketing plan and sales budget with the General Manager.
Qualify leads and prospects gained from tele-prospecting, cold calls, sales blitzes and other lead sources.
Establish and maintain close contact with top and target accounts through phone calls, appointments, tours, written correspondence and entertainment. Assess future and current needs of the client.
Assist with rate and service decisions as a property leader.
Submit weekly sales reports. Attend and/or lead sales & revenue management meetings.
Participate in daily business review meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required.
Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings.

REQUIREMENTS

Direct hospitality sales experience (1-year minimum)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work as team player with excellent guest relations skills.
University degree and/or equivalent sales experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to influence customers and provide excellent service.
Fluent in basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office Applications

The Hotel Marketing & Sales Executive is a full-time, salaried position with a competitive benefits package which includes PTO, Holiday Pay, Hotel Discounts, a Monthly Bonus Program, Pension Program, Health Insurance.

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees in this position work primarily indoors. To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to use a computer and other standard office equipment. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.
