The human mind is really a complex place,and we do have the propensity to think the most bizarre. permit me to appeal to the Holy Bible and specifically the book of Proverbs 4:23 which says (Above all else,guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it)

I said permit me because most people don't believe in God let alone the idea of an Almighty Supernatural being. But it bothers me! (1) if there is no God, to whom then do you base your moral objectives? Most people will say no one needs a God to know that killing, theft, slavery, racism etc is bad

The problem with that position is if there is no God we all are just some freak (accident) of nature and life ultimately is meaningless, because then morality becomes relative. So no matter where your mind journeys to,endeavor to remember, there is a God, and he loves and cares about the human race.
