Just recently, TikTok app which has gained over 2 billion downloads, making it the highest downloaded app in the world since the year 2019. But this year 2020, viewers started sending reports concerning the kind of videos users are creating on Tik Took.
It was then after the app was banned in India Recently.



It all started with an Indian YouTuber, Carry Minati, after uploading a video titled
"YouTube vs TikTok: The End". The video went viral on YouTube and TikTok alike.
His video, spoken in Indian, birthed controversies of short form video creations on TikTok vs the long term videos on YouTube.



The video arose a heated clash between TikTok users and YouTubers, which resulted into a serious effect on the app's rating. After many media protests were directed to YouTube, YouTube was pressured to take the video down, after banning the youtube account of Carry Minati. Many TikTok infuencers invited the wrath of social media users after promoting horrifying videos such as cyber bullying, acid attacks on women, rape, and prejudice against women, and so much vulgar contents.

The National Commission of Women Chairman, Rekba Sharma, alerted the Indian government for the total ban of the TikTok app, having stated that it promotes offensive contents and leaving a negative influence on children and youths alike.
In US, there was grievances directed to the FTC, accusing TikTok company of illegally collecting personal information of children, violating the Federal Children Privacy Protection Act.

This is not the first time TikTok is faced with the challenge of being banned in India.
In the year 2019, TikTok has been criticized for promoting reckless and dangerous clips in pursuit of 'Virality'. The app, which had video contents including animal abuse, cyber bullying, sex, pornography, obscenity, cruelty against animals, women abuse, and even human abuse, some which leads to death. In the past also, TikTok app has invited bans from multiples of Indian court, charges which came to an end in April 2019.


If you had never installed TikTok, or viewed some of TikTok videos, you might have missed a lot from its entertainment, ranging from funny and hilarious, to daring and dangerous. Videos like challenging gravity, dancing in moving cars, emulating gravity, magic tricks, emulating celebrity, and other forms of entertainment, has won the hearts of many online users. But aside from all these videos comes vulgar clips like sex related videos, killing and abuse of animals, death of humans, abuse and prejudice on women, promotion of hatred against ethnicity, and many more. These are the some of the many reasons why TikTok had been banned in India, and it's also risking bans from US, and other countries, and unless this issue is been taken care of, the app might need to be shut down permanently.
