Deus Ex Machina

President Olusegun Obasanjo- Atiku Abubakar

Promises of pardoned traitors
Reek like ancient regrets.
Exhibitions,
Steeped in rapacity.
Inured to light, they
Dominate blindly
Evoking the same air of oppression
Noteworthy of the days of yore.
Traitors in transit, trampling as they go.

Over us, they bellow.
Lording it, they rule
Under the guise of foreign dogmas,
Silence all demanding.
Egocentric beasts with rotund bellies
Gloats with our reserves.
Unaffected by the groaning of a people
Nestled in penury.

Our Overseers,
Behemoths, disguised,
Assiduously make us the
Shame of the whole world while
At perfect ease with themselves.
Neglecting the many sufferers about, they
Jostle for private vaults in Zurich as
Our poverty became their riches.

And the bespectacled gargoyle
Trenched in the prison called Rock.
Impervious to all wisdom,
Kept an unholy vigil as
Undertakers beckoned suddenly.

Archetypical simpletons, they
Bask in gaudy wealth
Untouched by the miseries surrounding them
Building high walls to keep prying eyes away.
Atop Hills, perched like Vultures,
Kleptocrats searching for new honour.
Aglow in oily garbs, they
Regale themselves, as the world looks on in amazement!

It baffles me knowing that someone can just type a bundle of lies, why? Is it that you are mis-informed or that you are just dumb?
First and foremost, Trump sent a total of 1000 ventilators to Nigeria, he gave a news briefing on that last week, you could look it up on YouTube.
Secondly, Dokpesi and his family were never in Lagos, they were in Abuja, gwagwalada to be precise, I am saying this because I work in the hospital where they were isolated, and I did see them everyday.
So please, when you don't know something ask, so you won't mis-inform others on this platform.
The problem with nairaland is that a lot of people come here for attention it doesn't matter if what they are saying is true or not.

Absolutely right

RX480:
Hmm... That's a 25% positive rate, far above the 10% threshold for undertesting. It is well sad

Anyway, Nigeria's economy is to fragile for lockdown and now we're forced to reopen states at a crucial moment in containing this pandemic now we're seeing the effect of that, it's now our responsibility to fight covid and we can do that by wearing a mask, keeping distance from people and washing our hands. I don't know about other states but I'm glad Rivers is seriously enforcing these rules

Montlab25:
Nigeria is arguably the only country where some clowns see Covid-19 as a scam. This shows how poorly enlightened Nigerians are. They just don't get it. This has further reinforced the school of thought that says the society is the problem NOT the leadership. Some do not even understand how the government is losing millions by implementing partial lockdown; All they think of is the billions that are supposedly looted. Why will any government be deliberately losing money because they want to loot lesser amounts?
No wonder Fashola conducted sanity tests on some Nigerians when he was governor.

our religious leaders worsen the situation with their unguarded utterances, most Nigerians believe them than the govt. Two of them openly condemned the use of face masks with one saying we look like masquerades. The whole states need to ban religious and social gatherings from now till the end of the year before things go out of hand.

We are in the rainy season already with the coming floods that will easily serve as a medium of spread. Offices and industries than can work from home should continue to do so. shit is becoming more scary

I quickly googled Brazil's corona virus update, over 500,000 deaths!!!
While some countries are easing up, some are still red hot
I just hope it doesn't come with a second wave

500,000 cases not deaths.

Brazil has 25,000 deaths.

It is wrong to always use *extreme end* in a sentence. You either use *extreme* or you use *end".
Once again, stop smoking weed. You are gradually running mad.

If you think Yahaya Bello stands to gain something from standing his ground that there's no case of Covid 19 in Kogi state but think the Federal Government doesn't stand to gain anything from inflating the figures of cases recorded per day then you're a bloody hypocrite and not to be taken seriously on nairaland or anywhere for that matter.

Did Kano reduce their testing capacity or what? They've recorded just 15 cases in 3 days meanwhile Edo state that has 3 times less the population of Kano have recorded twice that in two days.
