The minor problem he has is that it’s a bit baffling that the NYSC would issue a certificate in 2019 to correct a mistake on a certificate of 1998 and retain the same reference number and the signature of an official who is no longer with the institution on the new certificate. It’s baffling.

It is even more baffling that the NYSC has watched the controversy for months and said nothing. Why couldn’t the NYSC use one tweet to say it issued both certificates. Simple. If the deputy governor is innocent, and we must assume he is, then the NYSC has not helped his cause by allowing rumours to fester.

November 2019, the PDP candidate, Diri, picked Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo as his running mate. Ewhrudjakpo submitted a new exemption certificate. The new certificate had the correct spelling of his name, had the same reference number as the old one, and was signed by the same Brigadier Dule who signed the first exemption certificate in 1998. The new one came on a different sheet of paper.

That's NYSC's problem, not his problem, he has followed the legal due process of correcting an alteration on his certificate.

I corrected the name on my birth certificate issued by a hospital after after my M.Sc. When I was born, parents didn't have a name yet for me as they wanted my grandmother to come around name me traditionally. So my birth certificate carried 'Surname Middlename Baby'.

After so many years I visted the same hospital before travelling for my Ph.D and was issued a new one with my current name. My birthdate remained unchanged.

NYSC give a certificate bearing 'Ewhrujakpa' He called NYSC attention to the error and asked that it should be properly changed to to 'Ewhrujakpo' which was his proper name and NYSC obliged. Case closed.

He works for a multinational and till date hasn't changed it. That makes no difference.

I smell foul play, if nysc should replace or change anything in any certificate there must be affidavit to that effect.

Affidavit is when u misplace it originals and can't access it from the institution that supposed to replace it, the law or court issue u with affidavit.
If the institution can replace the certificate back, there is no need for affidavit.

Stop trying to blow grammar that you understsnd, if the NYSC says they are followed the procedure to remedy a mistake they made, Dep. Gov is not liable. It cannot be termed as 'fraud' or 'fake'.
The mistake is not from the Dep Gov but from NYSC which they have remedied.

Does the certicate belong to him? That's not in contest.

Even the judge will be daft to rule against the Dep.Gov.
