If a type C port is a 2.0 rated version like the one on this redmi 9, then it's just as good as an ordinary micro usb coz it won't support any extra features like video out, audio out or that extremely fast charging that most flagships use, and that's coz flagship type C ports are version 3.0 and 3.2.

The only real advantage that the redmi has is the 1080p screen. Everything else is cosmetic.

Now each Chipset maker have a series of Chipset tailored for a price range of devices.

Entry-level and Budget Chipset
MTK - A20 series or the rumoured Gaming series to the p35 series
Qualcomm - SD 200 - SD 400 series.

You see this manufacturers refreshes and improve slightly these chipsets yearly to make sure there is a new Chipset for each segment.

A new budget series might perform better than an older mid range Chipset. And so can a new mid range Chipset can perform better than an old flagship Chipset.

you're right but chipsets always come with specific hardware requirements like a G70 might come with e.g 5g and G35 will not even if its new because of it's hardware pre-determined capabilities so no tailoring the OME's will give it that will affect it's performance in a way that will be better than an old flagship

well, Infinix used type C on its "Zero" phones since the zero 4 so it's not something new. Tecno has also used it on its phantom series. To be honest, I believe the reason why they stick to ordinary USB is coz it's cheaper and at the moment most African consumers have no issues with it, so there's no real need to make the switch. But the more it trickles down to cheaper models of popular brands like Samsung and Huawei, Infinix will also be forced to adapt it... it just needs to become more of an industry standard. But at the moment there's really no value I can see from it if it's just going to be a 2.0 version type C

Transsions just doesn't want to do the same.. my Mi A1 had typeC port as far back as 2017 and the least Xiaomi device for 2018, for example, Redmi 8A Have a typeC port with an 18W fast charging yet the 95k flagship doesn't... Imagine the S20 series came with a micro USB in 2020 and claimed not everyone in Africa have an issue with it how would that make you feel? I can't claim to understand why they insist on using micro USB, but I assume that it's coz it's a cheaper alternative that's why they only used the type C on their expensive phones. My point however is that there's no big deal fussing over the type C. You're basically just complaining for a mere shape of charger. Micro USB is also able to deliver 18W fast charging as seen on the Note 7 and also in the Note 5 which I personally owned for almost 2yrs and can confirm it charged pretty fast.

This argument is flawed... They can jump on the pop-up camera trend, the punch hole trend but can't maintain a TYPE-C trend? I know why, with the others they can easily justify why they are increasing the price whilst maintaining the same internals albeit a few tweaks here and there... Let us not support mediocrity. If an OEM is not living to our expectations they should be called out for it, be it Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, Transsions etc... we are the ones spending our money for these... For now, Xiaomi offers me amazing value for money in the 3 years I've been using them... I've used two Transsions devices just before that after 6 months... A lot of things don't work well. I am a very careful user... I have never taken my own device for repairs except my Bold 4 and 5 for battery replacement which was rampant then...

I didn't even see the last part... The R9 is doesn't come in the 128gb ROM version just 32gb and 64gb unless of course you are talking about the RN9, RN9s or RN9Pro which are different devices using different chipsets and internals... And if the R9 comes in the 128gb variant please, kindly point me to it.
