Did it for almost a week or after lectures each day, I will wait till 5-6pm to trek home because i was damn broke then that I can't afford 30# transport. When popsi finally send money I still begged Keke man for a free ride to bank. But now I laugh over everything..

Drinking garri for a whole month back in igwuruta with my pal(working in a farm then and cash got finished cos I forwarded some money to my mom and siblings in the village)

Stayed almost a day and half without food despite working from 7-7(that day,na breeze carry me come back house)

had no food to eat with my pal and we cooked the dog noodles(we were supposed to feed the dog with it)and ate like that(the most horrible thing I've tasted in my life)...

I remember that faithful night that me and my friends were hungry, we contributed money among each other to buy Noddles Belle full 2. We gave it to one of our friend girlfriend to cook the Noddles. She put the indomie on fire and she told us that it's late already that she is going to her hostel. Indomie is done and it is time to eat, to our greatest surprised, this girl add salt to the indomie oo. Sincerely speaking we don't have choice oo we ate the indomie like dat oo.

I slept in campus with empty stomach most days ,,and I keep asking myself wat next after graduation , because no hope ,I mean no hope at all ,back in campus,most times na 3k I take survive for 1month ,,,in side the 3k I go transport go campus ,life in Ambrose Alli University no be beans o,,,

Surviving on mangoes when life was hard during my preclinical days, thank God it was in Ogbomoso where mangoes are very cheap.

For me, the weirdest thing I've done to survive was to do street marketing of cosmetics.

was coming back to school at Ebonyi state, got to Enugu, it became very late, no bus to take us to Iza our destination, I and my friend went to the police station to sleep till early morning, the police men ask us if there station was a hotel, finally they asked us to pay for the night like 10k each, I left there with my friend, saw some ladies who were go for a vigil in the church, we joined them pretending that we where looking for there church, guess what guys, when we got there and the prayers was going on, we where busy snoring on a bench in the church, immediately it became around 4an in the morning, we sneaked out of the church to catch the first bus, it was funny though but I never forget the experience.

Our funny systems... And it's in constitution that if stranded, one can pass the night in a police station... Olokpa wan turn am to hotel

mine was during my ND last semester. you know how project supervisors will just keep calculating all the offenses you committed until you jam them during your last project.
This particular lecturer kept I and my group in school till even our last exam.By then money was now an alien to me and my roomie. So one babe just dash us rice and small condiment to arrange it, but unfortunately we had just 2 sachets of water and about 3 cup of water (was not neat O).
we just decided to manage it like that.As we just put the rice on the fire ,environment just changed and it started raining ooo, my roomie without thinking twice just threw away the remaining water (not neat).
unfortunately and regrettably, just as he was about putting the bucket to fetch some good water na, The rain stopped immediately. we had no other choice but to eat the semi-cooked rice like that.

Chai, I will never forget undergraduate days....

So having drank garri for almost 2 days straight up, remaining only maybe one milk cup left for me and there was still a few days left in the month before I can even demand for feeding allowance at home.
I looked at the garri, thought of what to do to multiply it, then the thought came *drinking garri is not a sign of been broke rather allowing it to rise after soaking it is the real poverty*. To God be the glory, I soaked one cup of garri that evening and it multiplied truly. Like more than I could imagine.

My friend, an expert in garri drinking, later made it known to me that drinking yellow garri is better than white garri, why??
Yellow garri contains carotene that prevents damage to the eye.

I was in 100level, was broke, not even 5naira on me, didn't eat throughout the day because of my economic condition. That night I went to bed with the mindset of waking up the next day without eating, that was the only time in my life that hunger has jerked me out of my sleep. I borrowed garri, mixed it with palm oil, I over poured salt because I was imagining it to be sugar. Last last I stayed up hungry thoughout the night. The next day was a testimony

I've done lots of things oh.

Weirdest food I've eaten to survive: Garri 3x for 1 week. I've also used palm oil, salt and fresh pepper as soup to eat eba.

Weird job I've done for money: Conductor, Laybuke(Serving a brick layer). Funny enough did all this when I was below 16.

Stupid 'est' decision I've made to survive: Beg online for money, happened in 2017 when I was in 200L. I still regret it whenever I think of it.

Worse thing I've done to survive: Skip one semester of school to go learn Yahoo. LOL. Stupid young Me , abandoning a 4.51cgpa to go learn fraud.

The first instance was in boarding school. There was a rule that time that you couldn't enter the dining hall without your own plate. In those days we would take like two ceramic plates from home but within a week or two our plates would either be stolen, broken, or otherwise unavailable.

Well, my friends taught me how to scavenge. Once dining time is over, you rush into the hall and try to find leftover food. If you're fast enough you may find barely touched food, otherwise you have to settle for partially eaten food. An I'm talking swallow not just rice.

The things I ate were things my mother would never ever have imagined or tolerated. Things that I never would have eaten before boarding school.

Before then I was an exceptionally slow eater, and could take hours to eat but boarding school made me an absolutely rapid eater.

Then when I first started working I trained myself to be able to enjoy bread and water. It paid off later when i was in between jobs.

My broda, schooling here is hell for those struggling financially. What I passed through during my UG is a story to tell to my grand children. OAU is damn stressful.

I tell you, When I realized I had 10k in my account, I used the last strength to withdraw some money from the ATM and and get some food from mama put. It wasn't funny

In life, there are moments we are faced with difficult situations with the sole aim of surviving hoping there will be light at the end of such circumstance..

Mine: it happened when I was I part 2 second semester, it was close to end of semester and there was no cash on me, no gas in my cylinder and I had to eat that night .... i had to Cook 'Eba' with normal water, ate with Palm oil sprinkled with salt.. imo that night bad gaaan....

200l is always the worst year In University, I had to go out and pluck mango and other fruit to eat did that for like a week I had to borrow 1k from one of my female friend in school I never pay her till today o

I trekked from CHI farm to Ibadan. Funny enough I wore boot. I had to removed the boos and walk barefooted.
