Greetings great Nairalanders, I am having a thought lately. It may sound dumb to some and might make sense to many. In the technology space, every technology that is known were invented by our counterparts on the other side of the sea (western world). Well, it comes at no surprise looking at their development rate and enabling environment. An idea I don't support is relegating anything that comes out Africa ad local or something of inferior value while anything they create over there is automatically termed international and is imposed as yardstick to measure success anywhere around the world including Africa. Well, not bad since they created it and we didn't. To this end, I have been thinking, WILL IT BE A CRIME OR IMPOSSIBLE TO CREATE AN INDIGENOUS PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE FOR THE WEB? We all speak different languages in Nigeria and Africa as a whole but we have been unified to some extent by one language, English (which is obviously not out language). While looking for something to truly unify Africa in one voice, a "locally" developed method of developing and accessing the web won't be a bad idea. If we can learn HTML, CSS, JS, TS, LARAVEL, PHP, NODE.JS, VUE.JS...etc., then we can create something that the world will have to adopt if they want to be in our space. Africa is great and we can do this. My opinion -K. O. Seidu 1 Like 1 Share |
