Gone are the days when nairaland phone section was an interesting one, now, i can’t scroll pass 10 threads without 8 being about either infinix, tecno and xiaomi promoters bashing each other and i see that as being totally unprofessional..

Before you call me a marketer, i’m an ios user so i‘m not siding anyone here..

Sometime last two weeks my cousin sis wanted to get the new tecno camon 15, escorted her to slot, she checked and agreed she liked it, and payed(her choice).
the following week my bro asked me any good phone he can get for around 55-60k, checked and even created a thread to ask about that and i saw xiaomi note 8 being the best option for him, he took the advise, checked out the phone and decided he liked it and bought one i never forced him.
what am i trying to say?, being a marketer for a particular brand, no matter how big or how small doesn’t give you the right to bash other brands no matter the type of trash they produce, being a marketer is all about being professional in your approach, for example, marketers found in various mobile stores, a customer walks in and asks about a phone within his cash range, each marketer will describe various products they have within that range and let the CUSTOMER make HIS CHOICE, hardly will you see a markerter in a well know mobile store trying to say bad words about the other brands to the customer in other to win, Such is unprofessional.
This transion whatever threads are really derailing this phone section, if you feel your brand has a good gadget, drop the reviews and let the customers decide which one they wanna go for, you dont have to force a product on someone neither do you have to badmouth another brand just to promote yours.

I believe we all are all matured, let’s do things a matured way, not every user fancies these mtk and snapd comparison you guys keep posting everyday, most users get mobile phones based on beauty and choice, Its their choice to make, not yours.

marketing is as simple as dropping your product specs, a literate entity will browse more about those specs in the internet if they can actually handle their expectations and makes his/her choice.. simple as that

There's a guy that writes on this stuff. Atheistandproud. But people hardly ever read his stuff. Only Xiaomi people sef I see on his thread.

Another thing too I have noticed. Tecno and Infinix use to hide their specs.

I saw Spark 5 advert with Octacore chipset. I thought it was one new important chipset. It's someone here that told me it was Helio A22 abi 25. I'm not sure again.

I was already hailing Tecno. I think that's why these guys are fighting Tecno marketers. I don't know if they're paid sha.

The only war i see on here is between people saying the true and people who think the people saying the truth are too loud or too rude.

Thanks for making this thread. I personally have over time lost interest in the phone section because of these people, especially the Xiaomi marketers. When Xiaomi people post and rave about their phones you hardly find anyone bothering them or trying to promote another brand but when you point out something negative about their brand they immediately label you as Tecno marketer.

And then when someone dares to say something positive about a Tecno/Infinix phone or opens a thread about the latest Infinix phone he's automatically labeled a marketer and therefore his contribution becomes irrelevant. There's just so much hatered and viciousness in these comment sections that of recent I decided to just keep away from the discussions.

Those Xiaomi guys are not marketers or promoters as you call them. Look Xiaomi doesn't run promotional adverts as you people believed. What they do, they build strong fan base (e.g Xiaomi is barely 2 years in Nigeria, now check their Nigerian Facebook page to see they have over a million fans) and those fans will now convince people around them about the benefits they receive from Xiaomi products..

Yeah, the whole section has become toxic. Even the popular tech bloggers like miss techy, HennryO, Eric Okafor... They're bashed and insulted for simply making Tecno reviews yet they also review all other brands as well. There's just no room for civil discourse and discussion coz insults start flying almost immediately
