Top 10 Reasons Why You Need A Website - Codenaija by OriginalCEO: 5:47pm On Jun 06, 2020
OriginalCEO:
Entrepreneurs and youths, in general, ask me this question a lot, Why do I need a website? I will briefly give at least 10 reasons every business and entrepreneur must have a website. Truly we are in an age where we can get a lot done just from social media channels like Instagram and Facebook, so where really does a website come in. Well LET’S FIND OUT.

--------Do I really need a Website?---------
1. A Website boosts your Credibility level
People expect solid, standard and trustworthy businesses to have a website no matter how simple it appears to be. In a place like Nigeria where majority have had reasons to become skeptics, you can’t afford not to have a website to boost your online presence. I have had job interviews from supposed companies who neither had a website nor standard mail, and had to push them aside. We all look up companies online to see if they truly exist or are legit to say the least.

2. It Shows Professionalism
A website can fetch you the attention you so desire and deserve. You can imagine sending a proposal out but your email is something like ‘Musadinho10@yahoo.com’. You don’t need to tell me that proposal will record more failure than a more professional mail that shows you are grounded and know what you are doing – something like ‘services@domain.com. Depending on your web host and package you bought, you can have access to a couple or an unlimited number of these professional mails. Besides the email, a website generally shows professionalism.

3. Money! Money! Money!!!
I see people, visionary and beautiful writers drop their posts on facebook and other platforms when they can easily get a blog, that can serve their work to the entire world and after a while, months or a couple years, you start earning huge from ad networks such as google ads, this is the most common means of monetizing a blog, there are a million other ways but you would never find out if you don’t take the first step.

4. There is a Race you are Not Aware of
I don’t need to know your niche or genre before I assure you there is a competition and you are missing on lots of leads, due to lack of a website. People have automated their sales and are being ranked on google and being shown to the whole world while you are mostly stuck to your Facebook page followers. Even if you are doing well right now, that means there is a lot of potential and you can even earn better with a stronger online presence.

5. Websites are for Shop Owners Myth
Many people believe you only need a website if you sell products or are into e-commerce, but they are very wrong. Reason is, people are searching online daily for both products and services, you don’t want to be left out even if all you do is sell data or home cleaning. Meet your clients online, at the point of their need with your website.

6. Not everyone is a Social Media person
From time to time, people cut down on the number of social media channels they are following, some say they use twitter instead of Instagram and state their reason, some people hate facebook because there are ‘too many stranger’ so they focus on LinkedIn and many others don’t even do Social media at all. These are clients that deserve to be found.

7. Broader Audience
You may not be aware but Facebook does not show everyone your posts all the time. As a matter of fact, your facebook page may have 2000 likes and follows but the percentage that gets notified of your posts are only about 2% to 4%. You need to expand your reach with the aid of a Website.

8. No Products or Services to Render
Some people are still on the ‘I don’t know what to do’ train and just watch everyone taking steps and cashing in. The world is now so advanced you don’t even need to be selling to make profits. Some people have made millions from drop shipping or Affiliating, though they deal with products, they don’t actually see these products but they are making money. There are many other ways to make money which may not even involve active participation from you.

9. Websites are Expensive to Acquire and Maintain?
Contrary to the belief of some people that a website is expensive to set up or maintain, it is no longer so these days, it can cost you from $0 – $100 at times depending on your budget but it is now very easy to acquire and you deserve to have at least one.

10. A Website is an Investment
A Website can be easily likened to a Real Estate. It begins to add value after you set it up and depending on how active you are or the kinds of solution your website offers, you may resell it after a couple years and cash in big. Some people specialize in building websites, only to sell it away but at a huge price.
