Your response doesn't answer his question Abi you wan go chance him for the market? To the buyer free yourself from Kia ...,you cannot eat your cake and have it. If you are looking for rugged car that can go distance ...,start from Toyota and honda

Just go easy on things, don't rush it. Make Google search of its features and know if all are intact.

Kindly share the particular spare parts of a 2008 Kia Rio that is not accessible in the open market. Must everyone use a Japanese car?
Many people have enjoyed and still enjoying their Kia products. Stop spreading fake news pls.

whatever u do in buying nigerian used car ensure that u go with your friend you can trust that has at least 10 years driving experience and this ur friend will bring his most trusted mechanic. With 10 years driving experience he must has come across many mechanics and will give u the most trustworthy. i will advice u to stay away from that kia and reason is the parts are not usually available and u can hardly see competent mechanics all because it is not very rampant in nigerian roads. if ur budget is low, go for a honda or toyota but make sure u inspect. do not rely on car agents' "buy and drive nothing to fix" this statement is a lie 80% of times. most of them have never seen the car they are advertising but only the pictures.

Based on some friend's experience, kia is a good brand BUUUUUUUUUUUT the parts are expensive.

If u buy original spare parts, they don't get spoilt easily!

But i will also advise u go with known japanese brands that even a blind mech can fix to avoid stories that touch the heart and tickles the bumbum!

Depends on the strength of the engine, 2008 Kia Rio comes with a 1.6L i4 Engine, if it has been used for years with its previous owner, it may not be too strong for long journeys, I think Kia Rio was made for just in-state movements and not interstate.

Kia come with aluminium engine and some how expensive to replace.

My experience with kia cerator vs my experience with Toyota (camry pencil light).

My brother-inlaw bought a kia cerator tear rubber, and used it for a couple of years, (l am not sure, probably about 4yrs), then decided to sale when his boss was about to offload his kia optima to upgrade, to buy the optima. Me and my wife offered to buy the cerator. At that time, we were using a honda accord 1996 model or there about, a fantastic car. So it was an easy decision for me and my wife to make about buying the cerator, because it's a millennium car, l think about 2004 model or so. The price was more like a gift - 250k. Infact, as soon as l advertised the Honda here on this platform, l got a buyer quickly who paid 230k for the accord. We made up the money and bought our cerator. Manual gear system, with good airconditioner system and good engine and fine body. We enjoyed the ride until xmas for 2013 when we traveled with it to east from Lagos. Before then, l am beginning to get pissed with the car because of the extra stress it started putting on me. 1. My wife insisted we retain my inlaw mechanic who himself is an ex staff of kia motor. This is a problem for me because each time the guy come close to the car, l spend nothing less 5k. Coming from 90s car to a millennium car, it was too sensitive for my liking. It was simply draining me financially.
2. The parts is not a funny business. For instance, to change plugs, the mechanic usually insists we buy kia brand of plug, and it's like 5times more expensive compared than normal plugs l can buy on the street.

I continued to endure the stress until we traveled. Going was a very jolly ride. We spent our time in my village, left for Portharcourt to visit old friends before coming back. The car fired the first shot at us. It started stuttering. And finally stopped near Eleme Junction. A few mechanics l stumbled on to don't have any idea what was wrong with the car. After two frustrating hours of trying to find a solution in vain, l decided to call one of my friend who l believed could help and he did help because he immediately recommended a mechanic who has diagnostic machine. With that, after fiddling with vehicle for a while, everything seemed very ok and we finally set of to Lagos from PHC somewhat later than planned.

Our journey was smooth thereafter, except that as we started approaching Ore, the A/C stopped working, and tyat was the last time we used A/C in the car. No wahala! Bros, from the next day after the journey, l couldn't recognize the car again, it kept moving from one fault to another. Giving that we are still using the ex staff of kia as oir mechanic, l tell you, my pocket hear am until e clear me for eye.l decided we drop the mechanics. He was simply digging holes in my pocket. It took a while to find a replacement mechanic that understood the car. But no more the special attention and we managed the car till 2018 when it knocked engine.

To replace it, they were calling 450k. The body and interior was still in top shape, and after cross checking prices of Nigerian used cars in the market at that time vis-a-vis using 450k to buy another engine, l felt l should scrap the vehicle and buy another Nigerian used car. And that was how l decided to buy a Nigerian used 1999 pencil light Camry. I will be 3rd Nigerian user/buyer. The A/C was still blasting like a new or tokunbo car, thatinspired me not think twice about offer. The price was 400k I had a few fixes to do, like change the trafficators, the key gets stuck on the ignition once on a while, the radiator was leaking badly and the liey starter occasionally won't answer. Everything costs within 50k. By Xmas of 2018- l blasted the car from lagos to my village in the east, came back. The engine fan stopped workong on our way back at Onitsha on the 6th jan 2019. It costs me 10k to fix and l drove on A/C aall through going and coming back. In may 2019, I sold the car at 400k to l guess the 4th Nigerian buyer.

Now Sir, the choice is yours to make..

Don't get me wrong Kia is a wonderful car to have but Bros this is Nigeria and getting a mechanic who understands the vehicle on short notice in case of an emergency may be quite hard to find compared to Toyota mechanics that are everywhere so the choice is yours to make

I dont even know why the op is confused

kia rio is what u asked about.....not cerato, not picanto......k to the effing r o!
