Residents in Ayedun quartres of Akure, Ondo have called on the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN as many were rendered homeless by heavy downpour.

The rain which started around 11pm on Monday left property worth millions of naira destroyed as some houses were reportedly flooded to the brim.

Residents of the community have therefore sent a Save Our Soul (S.O.S) message to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu over the flood ravaging the community.

The affected areas include houses along Alaakure filling station, Tuyi street, Overhead bridge connecting Araromi, among others.

A victim, Mr. Sunday Owadayo confirmed his room was flooded as a result of the heavy downpour while urging Governor Akeredolu to help them because of the untold hardship they are experiencing.

All efforts to reach the community leader over the incident met rebuff as at the time of filing this report.
