Prisca got a job at a commercial bank in the city she lived, but excellence didn’t matter to her. You see, banking was not her first love, in fact, she actually wanted to be an Actress. Prior to when she got the bank job, she had gone for several movie auditions without any success. So, she decided to work at the bank and manage it until she got an acting opportunity, which she was quite good at.

Every day, she would go to work, but she gave her barest minimum. She didn’t take the job seriously. Instead, she was occasionally rude to her colleagues, and only performed her tasks properly, whenever she was given tips by customers.

Prisca had no idea that her superiors were watching her as well as some of her colleagues. After about two years on the job, Prisca got some information about a movie audition that would take place during the weekend. She was excited for the chance and resolved to go and try for a role.

On the day of the audition, Prisca attended the audition and to her surprise, she met one of her colleagues, Samuel. He was one of the judges to decide who would be picked for roles in the movie. She later found out that Samuel was the Executive Producer of the movie she auditioned for.

Knowing the attitude Prisca had at her banking job, Samuel did not recommend her for the acting role, although she gave a good performance. Her excellence in acting did not reflect in her performance at her banking job.

Yes, she loved acting more than she loved banking, but one thing that is a sure fire way to promote one’s integrity and capability, is to show excellence in whatever job one finds to do.
