The United Nations General Assembly has Unveiled the theme for 2020 international Youth day which will be commemorated and celebrated by all Member States.

Theme of International Youth Day 2020, “Youth Engagement for Global Action” seeks to highlight the ways in which the engagement of young people at the local, national and global levels is enriching national and multilateral institutions and processes, as well as draw lessons on how their representation and engagement in formal institutional politics can be significantly enhanced.

Bayelsa Youth Leadership Awards holds on every 12th of August to commemorate the International Youth day, and the Award is presented to indigent Bayelsa Youths,Advocates of Youth Development and friends of the State. The Concept of the award program on International Youth day is to organize an Intellectual Youth program where Local , National and Global issues are being discussed, to encourage Youths who are making Significant impact in their areas of endeavors and Activities especially in Politics,Entrepreneurship, Sports, Entertainment, Agriculture, Academics,Science and technology etc.

The Bayelsa Youth Leadership Awards is supported by the United Nations and the Government of Bayelsa State inline with the sustainable Development goals (SDGs) and the Youth Oriented Policies and Programs of the State Prosperity Government.

The 4th Edition of Bayelsa Youth Leadership according to the Convener Comr. Atti J Moses promise to be bigger and better than Subsequent editions as more award categories will be created in reactions to public opinions.

The organizers of the Program also called on Corporate institutions and individuals to key into the project by sponsoring, partnering or supporting it because Youth Building is a collective responsibility.
