He quit the party when he wasn't receiving the support he was expecting from Buhari over the Fulani herdsmen perpetrating genocide in Benue.

And him decamping to PDP happened over 18months before his reelection.

He was denied PDP ticket not APC ticket in 2014, that was when he left PDP for APC before returning back.

Oshiomole is a Unionist (most Union members are like Sheep, follow the leader!), He is astrategist, hence they made him APC Chairman.
Oshiomole is a Two-time Governor of same Edo State, his "Structures" brought Obaseki into Power and right now, he is in the rulling party and has Federal Might behind him.

All the above are not small challenges to overcome, with the kind of Politics we play in Nigeria and now that he has added Ize-Iyamu to the 'gun-powder', Obaseki is about to be blown to smithereens, whichever party he joins.
