The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) has started validating COVID-19 Rapid and Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test kits at it's Public Health invitro Diagnostics Control Laboratory, Yaba Lagos.

The premarket validation is coming few weeks after Council presented the progress report of the first set of kits comprising of (1) Polymerase Chain Reaction based kit, nine (9) Rapid Test Kits (2 Antigen based and 7 Antibody based kits) and one (1) Viral Transport Medium (VTM) submitted to her for the purposes of validation.
