10. Algeria 1-1 Nigeria - WCQ 1993





This was the game that brought international exposure to Nigeria. It was the last match of the qualification series and Nigeria needed a draw in Algiers to make sure they qualified ahead of group opponents Ivory Coast. It looked impossible, with the Algerians known to be invincible at home. But coach Clemens Westerhof and his boys got the needed draw after a hard-fought game to put Nigeria among the eminent countries that would play at USA 94.
