The role of the presidential guards brigade is too elite or technical while using the DSS may be too over the top to serve as immediate bodyguard or ADC. Special agents trained in that role should be used and their role should straddle both the military and civil areas similar to the US Special Agents (they're not from FBI or CIA or the Military).

The problem however is the overbearing attitude of these guards. A Major guarding a president may end up being more powerful than the Chief of Army Staff sef

They processes are designed in such a way that they change, so that a former guard would not know what changes have been made after he left the position and he won't be able to compromise the first family's security.
