Adams Oshiomhole, The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has on Monday, said the ruling party was not for “big men”.


The ex governor stated this after a meeting of APC’s National Working Committee (NWC) with President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari.

He also described APC as a party of rules and claimed they did not even twist the rules for President Muhammadu Buhari, when he was seeking Presidential re-election in 2018.



Oshiomhole, further added that, the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, did not have a right of first refusal, as he seeks a second term.



Sadly for the governor, he has been disqualified by the party and will not have any chance of participating in it’s June 22 primaries.

Oshiomhole, while attending to questions from State House reporters in Abuja after the meeting with Gambari, described: “Our party is not a party of big men. It is governed by rules. Both the small and the big are subjected to those rules.


“I’m sure you will agree that our president led by example when we conducted direct primary in the last presidential election. We still went to Eagle Square for affirmation.


“So, if the president did not have the right of first refusal because our constitution does not provide for it, we cannot under any circumstances now bend the rules when it comes to some people and change the rules when it comes to others.”

I want t use this medium to answer one m.oron who claimed someone turning back on a political god father is backstabbing.

Obasanjo was made president in 1999 by IBB but Obasanjo made sure he never got his foothold back to the party and even made sure IBB was denied PDP presidential ticket. What do you call that? Back stabbing? People are just very i.diotic.

Every governor always have one person or the other helping him become a governor. It will be a very bad scenario if a governor spend all his years in governance worshipping his god father while turning his back to the people that elected him. god fathers demand are just insatiable.

One popular demand they have is for them to get hold of the state political structure making it impossible for you to take decisions on your own. god fathers exist everywhere but Nigerian god fathers are the worst.

Before Tinubu became the governor of Lagos he had someone who helped him become governor. Why is the person not bearing strong political influence in Lagos? Because the person is a man of peace who prefer allowing him do his job. Kwankwanso brought in Ganduje. If Ganduje have allowed the political structure in the hands of Kwankwaso, he would have been finished politically.

Ambode is not in any way a role model for anybody who wants to do politics. His loyalty and believe that Tinubu will fix things cost him his positions. Its a shame. There no backstabbing in fighting a god father who wants excessive political control over you my people. You were elected to serve the people and not just a few.

The game is getting more interesting. For Obaseki to win on another platform, he will need the security apparatus to be on his side on election day. If you are wondering why I mentioned security apparatus, just know that except you are strong like Wike, this is how elections are won and lost in Nigeria now�. The question is if the Presidency will be willing to allow Obaseki use this security advantage on election day against their own APC. Grab your popcorn people
