All this ones one raise some students hope thereby dashing school money for entry form. cut of mark 160 why this country like to do go back? instead of the thing to increase from like 200-230 e dey take step backward.

What people don't understand is that the cut off mark posted by universities is fake. Please aspiring students, don't look up or set your target towards that mark. Add at least 100 marks as your target to that publicly declared cut off mark.

The departments admit students from the highest score and they normally have a quota to admit, and once the number is reached, that automatically becomes the cut off mark. Thats why students that have average jamb score of 250 and above still don't get admission. The competition is high now.
For instance, a department has a quota to admit 100 students. If the top 70th student got 294 as his average score, that automatically becomes the cut off for that year, the truth is that schools no longer determine the cut off mark by themselves. The rest 30 students are now given to the catchment area, educationally disadvantaged areas, man know man, and other wuruwuru. So if you're hoping to get on merit, u have to jettison this public cut off mark, add another hundred marks and double your effort.

This thing is being done to favour north.their institutions will settle at that new cutoff marks while to secure admission into West south and eastern institutions with 200 marks will even need God's favour to scale through.the thing that has been disturbing me since this utme marks grading started was nothing else than the way they have makes college of educations looks like it is meant for crayfish heads and as a dustbin for University and polytechnic rejects.they make those students looks so inferior.

All the people wey dey here de complain of low standards of education and how their school nor de go below 250, na dem de enter school after year 2 you nor go see them around again cos e don be, but them go still de collect money from their people.
