Any Nigerian that falls into the trap of double disaster i.e Transsion and Unisoc in my opinion doesn't deserve pity.

Whatever the case, Unisoc are working hard to renew their battered image and reinvent themselves. So it may be too early to tell.

Yes i heard China is heavily funding all her semi conductor industries to weather the effect of Trump 's embargos and Unisoc is one of those companies that recieved boost from Chinese government.
I just hope they will improve for the sake of Nigerians otherwise ummhhh !!!!

Gbam! Especially with this US-China trade war debacle. Asian companies may throw their weight firmly behind Mediatek. Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi and Umidigi have all signed contracts to use MTK chips.

US may lose this war but Trump would be too proud to admit it.

you hear about the wahala with exynos chips? I no too dey sure but... Samsung makes 2 versions of their phones the global version uses exynos chips and it performes less than the SD chip for Samsung phones?

Wetin be your thoughts?? As them sign contract with Mtk.. we go see the dimensity chip?

Not a brand.

The company that makes Snapdragon processors is called Qualcomm sir and they have made a new 5G enabled processor for the Midrange Smartphone section.

So whoever wants to use it in their phone can go and patronise them.

Nokia have contacted them already and want to use it in their 8.3. We're waiting to see when Xiaomi and Samsung will contact them and which phones they'll use it for.
oh okay. Nice.

Samsung have an architecture license from ARM so they can modify ARM's design to make their own types of CPUs (these are custom cores). Huawei and Snapdragon both have the same type of license as well but they don't have problems like Exynos.

I don't know what's wrong with Exynos. They were trying at some point but now ehn, even in their home country of Korea, those Exynos variants aren't sold there.

I've noticed that they're changing their midrange offerings from Exynos to Mediatek or Snapdragon, A20S now uses Helio P22, A01 uses SD439, the A51 and A71 are all Snapdragon.

I think they'll need some time to rework their chips sha.

Their A and M series midrangers for 5G most likely will come with Dimensity or Snapdragon. As for which is which to come, I have no idea.

the 5G support issa win grin

so who'll produce 5G chip for transsion?
Mtk of course, since infinix use g70 for note 7. Make Tecno offend me by using Dimensity 800 for their camon 16 premier.... Even if the phone go come with plastic build, no glass protection, usb type b with no fast charge and Tecno price am 700k. Tecno can make one copy and give it to wizkid.

What's the fuss about a 5g device when the feature cannot be used? Licences have not been given to the telcos....then network design... even current high end 865 soc from Qualcomm was a disappointment based on the design. I expect a fusion of the 5g modem in their next release.
The point is by the time the service is available... there will be better socs and phones to utilize the service. Until then it's best to focus on other features of the soc.
